This is definitely cool. People would be surprised if you shown them how much a factory 5.3 ls with proper ring gap and a turbo makes. It will live past 1000 hp easily as well. I'm just happy there's more competition for robust engines now.
@tstuff1213
@tstuff1213 3 жыл бұрын
5.3s are definitely good platforms for engines when built/tuned correctly. I will say though the 7.3 Godzilla might dethrone the LS truck engines from their crown. The 7.3 Godzilla with absolutely nothing done no ring gap or head bolts or anything like that just a bolt supercharger and throttle body made 1015hp appearing as if it wasn't really trying, now imagine it with a turbo I bet on the same boost it could possibly make 1100hp just thanks to the mechanical drag of the blower being gone and how efficient turbos are. It seems to be a fantastic engine, and should help fuel the Ford vs Chevy rivalry for years to come. Also unlike other ford engines it seems many companies are taking a interest in it so hopefully prices aren't that insane for parts anymore compared to the coyote. Also the 7.3 stock has 6 bolt heads them head gaskets gonna stay seated for sure

@@tstuff1213 not a chance will it "dethrone" the LS given you can buy a 5.3 ls imported for $2500 and this 7.3 will be more like$25-30.000, buy the time ford sells millions of these 7.3's an they've done 200.000k's+ an fund there way into junkyards an the price comes down i seriously doubt our dictatorship government will allow them to be imported since they're forcing the e'car bullshit
@tstuff1213
@tstuff1213 3 жыл бұрын
@@arronjohnston742 Imported WTF. Im talking about in America currently you can by a crate one straight from ford for $7000 is it more expensive than a 5.3L yes for sure but can make way more power and makes more power stock. People have already made 1100hp+ out of a completely stock engine with boost within the first year of production.And people are building them for 1700whp+. It will take some time for them to end up in junkyards but they will over the next few years show up and i think be more popular than diesels when bought new. Also there is rumors of one being put in a version of a mustang. So over time it will get that low price wise. This in america/canada will become the new LS I think.

Well you can kind of. Take the torque curve and tilt it backwards then do the same for the power curve but pivot it at 5252. Depending on what the cam and heads allow I would say even a mild set up would be over 1200hp and a fast road/track set up somewhere around 1500hp. Of course thats only at 20psi too so there is plenty of room to bump up the boost if they want and if the motor can take it.

This Fine Ford Pushrod 2V Engine should have great potential. It appears similar to GM's SBC Gen3,4 architecture, As its birthed already @ 7.3L , can't help but wonder max CID will be when other power seekers start development. 1000+ HP in a streetable N.A. torque monster seems reasonable , eh.

E85 is definitely a factor, but the boost level also tends to make it breath more also its not a small engine its 445 cubic inchs stock which is more than most drag LS setups so just thanks to the sheer size of the engine it will breath a good bit. Also I don't think they had the right side open too vent so all of it was coming out that left bank which would make it appear to vent alot.

I wanna see how much this beast can be bored/stroked to. An 8.0l V8 will be legendary

470 seems to be about all it can be taken to before stupidity takes over.

If you want big, you have to step back in time a bit to the 385 series engines. A Ford performance A460 block will easily support a 572ci (9.4L) configuration. If you're even a little lucky , you might find a stock block with enough meat in the bores to hit that size... needs an 80 overbore to do it.

@@mfree80286 Yeah I'm big on BBF's and all but it would be nice to have something newer and lighter.

I would be pretty darn disappointing if the bagel hunk of metal broke at 1000 HP
