Basically same set up as I run. Agree on saving your money on the rears. I used Vmax rotors on the rear to keep costs down. They’ve been pretty good tbh.

Nice one mate. We haven't used Vmax rotors - do you rate them for track use?
@jasonlill20207 ай бұрын
@@ClunieGarage yes I have them on the rears. Would probably decrease pad life on the front.

Not sure if there available by you but apex's 18" wheels clear 390mm brakes. I did the 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rear. Just got some track pads for them, see how they do

Let us know how they go

Was thinking about adding ducts to my ve, but without proper shrouds I doubt much air would make it to the inner vanes. Worst case you might get uneven cooling and end up with warping/cracking.
@ClunieGarage7 ай бұрын
G'day mate, some cooling is better than none and the shroud just ensures you maximise direct flow from the cool air capture. I doubt you would get uneven cooling leading to cracking etc.. as the ambient temp inside the wheel well is fairly constant and the rotors are rotating at a high speed with air being distributed over them as they rotate. Only time I have heard about warping or cracking is havimg an offroader and hittimg a big puddle of water with super hot brakes.

We don't have the Ferodos readily available in the US. It's all Endless, Pangid and Hawk. Have you tried those pads?
@ClunieGarage7 ай бұрын
G'day Tom, you should be able to order Ferodo's online and get them shipped to the US. We haven't tried the other pads you have mentioned, We are keen to test Endless pads at some stage.

This video really gives me the peace of mind to purchase a set of DBA 400 rotors, how many set of rotors have you run through over the 3 years time? Thanks

@@chasew.l.5808 G'day, about three sets so far.

LOVE Ya vids bro! Wo would you recomended in Sydeny to do a cam, DOD delete upgrade on a L77 VF SS Manual!? Any cam recomendations for a nice lumpy idle?
@ClunieGarage6 ай бұрын
G'day mate, not too sure in Sydney but head down the highway and go and see Gen Tech in Canberra. I recommend a Brian Tooley cam for a normally aspirated lumpy idle cam, maybe a stage 3-4 depending on your application. DoD delete and new lifters are all required. Tell Marcus at Gen Tech that Fred sent ya and you will get a good honest deal. Fred.

Got Brembo 6 pot on the front and 4s on the back of my Ute Fred and they work well. If I was to have a whinge, the red paint finish is shite and peeling off.
@ClunieGarage7 ай бұрын
Nice one mate. Yes the red paint tends to deteriorate over time especially if the calipers get hot from spirited driving 🙏

Hey mate I’ve just brought a regal peacock green vf as and was thinking about 3inch exhaust what you think or anyone
@ClunieGarage7 ай бұрын
G'day mate, congrats on the purchase. Depending on mods and your budget, you can't go past a twin 2.5" manta system. Sounds great and works well with otr and tune for some performance gains.

How much were the brembos for the ute?
@ClunieGarage7 ай бұрын
G'day Gary, they available from Holmart. From memory they are about $2k with standard pads. You will need to source rotors and better pads.
@ny84727 ай бұрын
From memory Gary I purchased as a complete front and rear set, including braided lines, was not cheap .... around 5.5 grand way back in 2019.
