VE Commodore 6.0L vs. VF Commodore 7.0L - Dyno Battle

We put our moderately modified VE SS Commodore 6.0L V8 up against our highly modified VF SSV Redline Commodore 7.0L supercharged V8 in a dyno battle to see how much power difference there is between them. Our VE SS track ute is normally aspirated with a OTR intake, headers and tune. Our VF SSV Redline race car is supercharged with a LS 427 fully built engine, running E85, 20 psi boost with OTR intake, headers, full custom exhaust and tune.
All tuning and mechanical work in this video is performed by Clunie Garage and Gen Tech Performance in Canberra.

That VF sounds amazing, the VE sounds good too, cracks and pops like crazy.

G'day mate, we have never been i to drag racing and they are both manuals anyways. Circuit is our thimg but agree it would be interesting to see the VF down the quarter.

That is awesome. On a side note, any thoughts on race car tow points for the sedan? I’ve seen a range of different ones, all looking a bit compromised.

Have a look at our VF, we have a tow point attached to the front crash bar poking through - red strap.

Hi guys, great channel! Is it true about about the valves in the LS7, seriously considering getting a 7.0, but a bit concerned, not much about it on Camaro forums, buy a lot on Corvette, supposedly an issue across all years?

Yes, unfortunately the valve issue is real. We have upgraded our valves in the LS7 as part of the latest rebuild.

homie, I'm an American. I got the built up 6.0l LS locked down. where can I get WM Caprice window trim? by that I mean the rubber bits that keep the water out of my doors.

G'day, depends on your purpose - street, drags or circuit. If circuit, then truetrac is a great option and we run that in our VE ute. Moderate power suitability and then step up to Wavetrac for wild power. We have a whole diff mods video on the channel where we run through all the different options. Check it out. Fred.

Hi Guys, have you needed to use sump baffles to keep the oil pressure on the track? If so at what point in the mods was it needed? Im about to go to semi slicks.

@@EricSSV333 G'day mate, our VF runs a baffled sump and crank scraper but the VE is currently standard. We are looking at a oil accumulator for the VE at some point. Semi slicks and high g force corner tracks are when oil starvation becomes real so good insurance looking into it. The VP on the channel will run an ex Commodore cup baffled sump as well.

@@kevinobrien4155 G'day, yep that is for the new 6.0L engine for the ute. That is on hold whilst we build the 5.0L for the VP. We have the BTR cam sitting on the shelf.

G'day mate, original LS7's are getting hard to get but check Holmart and other suppliers. You can also get a LSX LS7 if you want to build a LS7 with some bespoke parts and have that 427 feeling. Harrop provide the 2650 blower to suit the LS7 and you can check their website. Cost = deep pockets!
