awesome series of videos - I like how you proved the body is slowing your truck down. I also like how you prove the C rating of the battery affects speed It can give you. 1 piece of advice. Definitely ditch the Dean's connectors, and get EC-5 or IC-5.I have several RC vehicles myself, and Deans connectors do limit the amount of power available to your ESC and Motor. Feel free to google the different connectors, each connector only "allows" a maximum amount to pass threw them. EC-5 has the maximum, IC-5 is second. At least as far as any research I have done.

I think LiPos perform better when it's warm out too, so you still might have some speed left once it gets warmer. Tires will stick better, and better performance out of the batteries.

Yeah I’m sure warmer weather will make a significant difference in the performance

I see where the prodrivers take and drill a series of holes right at the bottom of the windshield to allow air to get through

I might need to look into doing that. Keeping this thing on the ground has been the challenge
@recon_ur68563 жыл бұрын
Few things, Lipos like warm weather, Deans connectots will have a hard time with that much current, and Air Under the body OR chassis is not good for speed.

Yeah lipos don’t like the cold. I actually just did a video upgrading to 6s so I’ve dropped the deans plugs. And I just put out a video attempting to cut up the body and make it more aerodynamic

You need to have a 1 to 1 radio on your gearing and you need a cap pack a different motor setup and a rear differential spool to run 34 pinion 34 spur gears

6s you better put some weight on the front end mine wheelies easy and start gearing up more
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the front definitely needs to be weighed down
@petereye91383 жыл бұрын
you need a front spoiler, and less ground clearance and it looks like the front negative toe( both pointed out) isn't helping. you need to not let the air under the front end and those tires are increasing in diameter at high speed changing the height . Just look how much taller they get when powering it in mid air. you need tires that don't get tall under high rpm to keep it low to the ground or a drag body
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
They don’t balloon hardly at all though. They’re belted tires. I definitely need to lower the slash though. So you recommend toe inward?

Maybe when you are ready to hit 100mph you maybe pick a colder day and gear a it higher
@dackoson273 жыл бұрын
When you are ready to hit 100mph just gear it super high because if you gear it very high you might hit 100mph in 2 passes but if you gear it medium you are gonna need to do more passes to actualy get close to the 100mph so you might and up hotter with the meddium gearing.

4s aint enough without major gearing and downforce mods. I bet you could hit 100 with 6s on your current setup.
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’ll definitely take downforce and 6s
@justaguyrc63033 жыл бұрын
The concept you have to prove is a good one, but you have some flaws in your process. You and I have almost the same setup and I'm pushing 80mph easy. I'll be posting my video once I finish the rendering and post it on KZbin. The concerns I see are as follows; 1. Outside temp to cold for the tires to grip. 2. 4S will not get you to 100mph with your current setup. 3. Aerodynamics is poor which is why your flipping after being pinned. The air flow is spooling under the body and lifting it after 55mph. 4. If your running a 1 to 1 gearing you should hit 100mph on 6S with the body off. 5. Your missing a cap pack to help keep continues power available. 6. Change connectors. (I'm running 5mm bullets from ESC to the battery 6S 100C) If your trying to see how fast you can get a Traxxas Slash than your at the furthest you can go without doing some of the items above. I would use 6S and look into better aerodynamics, but don't cut the chassis. Once it warms up you can run 80+ mph.

Get proline road rage tires or x01 tires, you'll get a little more grip. Your slash is too light for your wheels
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean it’s too light for the wheels?
@jeremybethea43203 жыл бұрын
Weight wise it's too light, the chassis is plastic and those Hoons tires need a little more weight to perform. I have the HCG slash and I used those Hoons tires and I spin out a lot. I also tried the Traxxas x01 tires and I got better grip. I recommend you try a softer compound road tire like grp or proline.
