Mother Mary Desales Walsh (February 12, 1866 - March 1, 1968) was born in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. She arrived in Newfoundland when she was 16 years old. She joined the Sisters of the Presentation, teaching at Presentation Convent School and St. Patrick's School in St. John's, and serving as Mother Superior at the convent in Torbay for a period.
