When I was in college, I (a lifelong Lutheran) was roommates with a Wiccan and an agnostic/ atheist. We had some of the best conversations about life, relationships, social justice, and other things that people felt should divide us. Those were two of the best years of my life, and I cherish the respect and love we had for one another in those moments. It was also beautiful to see all the similarities in our personal beliefs, regardless of where those feelings developed from or were rooted in. ❤

The beliefs in only one god has a history of being more genocidal ,greedy and obsessed with control then the religions of many gods and this may be more a result of universalisms and wanting to force it on other peoples, Beliefs in many gods may result in the belief that different gods , created different peoples who are more then not created in their gods image. Not that surprising that so many mentally ill religious people want to force everybody into one image and the reason the left wants Jesus and Santa Claus black. universalism caused the dark ages and the fall of the roman empire for different reasons. Rome was brought down by migrating Christians that where only allowed entrance for claiming to be Christians who where allowed to keep their weapons of war. The roman empire fell because it could not adept to the existence of Christianity among other peoples. Pagan Europe was full of different religions, gods and cultures that was more limited to certain tribes and kingdoms with much less of a desire to spread those beliefs to other peoples who put effort into preventing migrations and invasion's into their lands.

I'm also in the north east. When I start I had to hunt for info. It was pretty hard going as the internet wasn't really up and in every home yet. And I was still a kid. Then I had to stop for a while because I found out the hard way my bf was violently opposed to it. Lately I've realized that my way of worship has never truly stopped because I worship by learning and by crafting. Even so it was a surprise when I found out after I was an adult that my aunt was also wiccan and was teaching her son.

As Norse pagan/Heathen, this video is fantastic!!! I’d like to add something… THANK YOU for mentioning the fashy side of Heathenry. It’s a problem those of us who don’t support that shit are always fighting back against it. That being said… a popular phrase among inclusive Heathens is “No Frith With Fascists.” This is derived from one of our most cherished proverbs, verse 127 of the Hávamál, a poem of wisdom and advice from Odin. There are many different translations of this verse, and the Hávamál in general, but the gist of it is, “When you see injustice, call it injustice. Consider that injustice done to yourself, and give your enemies no Frith.” Frith is a bit of a complicated concept to us, but basically, as the video states, it means peace, security, hospitality, etc., In other words, when Heathens say “No Frith With Fascists,” we are saying “No Peace, Security, Hospitality etc. For Fascists.” You can look up Declaration 127 and the Declaration of Deeds for more information on this. Odin said “No Justice, No Peace,” y’all! I highly recommend checking out Ocean Keltoi and Wolf the Red here on KZbin if you’re interested in learning more about Heathenry. They are extremely popular KZbinrs in the inclusive Heathenry community. Also… the Marvel movies aren’t a terribly accurate depiction of the Norse/Heathen gods. Lol.

Great video! Loved the information, learned a lot. Being cute/jokey with the numbers is completely unnecessary at this point. The factual information is entertaining enough without trying to make what number the fact is interesting. I know it's a tradition of sorts, but considering all those "jokes" are really old at this point, they don't add value. Good job Chris. The subject of the video had me worried, but it was handled well. I've always wanted to be the weird woman who lives alone in the heart of the forest. The kind that kids in movies describe as some terribly deform crazy old witch...but when you get out there, because you were dared of course, you find a kind, gentle, lady who just likes to garden and bake. Her herbs may be a little odd, but the cookies are delicious and when weird things happen she tends to show up and shut them down... Instead I live in the suburbs with my brother. But I can do the rest. And cackle.

Yes. Thank you! I don't beileve in the foolish 3 fold law, it's a solely Wiccan idea/concept. But I do beileve in the idea of karma (some what) but more so beileve that we get back whatever we put/send out. Just like I beileve that magic is neither "white (good)" or "black (bad)". Magic is just magic, and it is neither good or bad.

@@fibukibukaro Yes but magic itself, at its base, is neutral, and it's why when someone ask me what kind of magic I use I reply that I just practice and use magic. In certain cases I'll say that I'm a "gray" magic user. While it's true that magic is all about the users intent and will power, the issue comes in when, for example: one witch considers the use of a certain spell or ritual as "black" magic but another witch may consider that same spell or ritual as "white" magic....therefore magic at it's base is neither white nor black, it's "gray" or neutral. But that's just my personal opinion.

Throughout my professional career, I began to run up against the inconvenient truths of the transmission "history" of Christianity. I now see Christianity as abusive, intrusive and colonizing. This is a great informational video, but one correction. I grew up with a Catholic mother & Protestant (United Methodist) father & pastor. Those are different in that Catholics revere Mary to (debatable) a deified position, while Protestants do not and are against that. Some argue Catholics do not count as Christians, and some say they do, but the Catholic Protestant divide is very big.

Been pagan (eclectic green witch) almost all my life, over 40 years. While most of this is true, there are some other things that are not so much. Like it being polytheistic. While some may worship certain gods and goddesses separately, most of those who I know believe that the creative energy ("god") is just that, the creative, universal energy. But is known to have both feminine and masculine energies (the "god" and the "goddess"), which can then be further broken down into aspects of those energies which are just different "moods", "gifts", "personalities", or "aspects" in which those are specifically given specific names. But they are still all part of the one universal energy...
