My son was bored in computer class one day back in 2009. He remembered his teacher saying that you could change things on Wikipedia. He found the Wiki page for 2+2=4 and changed it to 2+2=fish and the meme was created. It became a game for him and his class to check the page everyday just to see if it was changed back to the original 2+2=4 and he would continue to change it back to fish every time the original creator changed it back.

Silencing the music for the 9/11/01 attacks made me tear up. I remember that day like it was yesterday, and still haunts me today. Factual and respectful. Mad props. Much like people who were alive for the assassinations of JFK or MLK, I will never forget where I was or what I was doing when I first heard that those planes hit. I was a senior in high school and was in a class meeting. We were all sent back to our classrooms and pretty much spent the rest of the school day watching the news. I remember my AP history teacher being completely unnerved and just staring at the news footage and repeating "What the fuck? What the fuck?" over and over again. When I got home my stepdad was watching it on the news, too and we just sat there together watching the news in disbelief.

Ah the 2000's the time when me and my friend used to ride our bikes all day, playing in the abandoned cars and about around 3PM returning home to watch Cartoon Network together, then going out for additional 2 hours.

I was born in 2003, still have some good and bad memories about the 2000s, but I agree life was much simpler and better back then, enough technology to be around, great music, etc…

Some 2000s kids felt the same way about missing out on being a kid in the 90s, and some 90s kids probably felt the same way about missing out on the 80s. I think a lot of people wish they could have experienced the past because they find their present to be dull, but any time you live in is a little unsatisfying because life is generally a little unsatisfying. You'll never get the most out of life if you think your life would be better under different circumstances, and your apparent belief that you'd be happier in the past is no help.

Yes, there are times in our lives that we wish we could relive, but if we already lived them perfectly, why live them again? The adventure of life is that there's always something new, new challenges and new experiences. Life isn't about going back, it's about going forward.

The 2000s were my childhood (born 2000) and once you come of age you start to awfully miss the era you were raised in, those days of watchin' Foxtel, startin' up your PS2, navigatin' the block with a razor are sadly over, somethin' Siri or Alexa won't even understand.

@@Justin-Hill-1987 Yep. 2004 is a transitional year though. Technically numerically it's more in the middle but culturally it was more like early, but transitional. Same with 2007. 2007 felt more like 2006 than 2008. 2008-2009 are their own little thing and feel more like now than the early 2000s.

Not even at fact 1 yet, and you already ruined my childhood. RIP Clifford. I was still just a little kid during the 00's so a lot of this was things that I didn't know had happened. I remember when I was a kid we would sit and play the singstar on the playstation 2. And you're right about Jordanhill trainstation. During 9/11 I was almost 4 so I don't really remember where I was because I was so young but I do remember watching a documentary about it a decade after the fact.
