Looking for some advice good sir. I’m smoking 8 Tri tip in my pit barrel cooker how long do you think I’ll need to finish?

Just keep an eye on them and make sure the temp doesn’t exceed what you’re looking for in doneness. This video was filmed almost a year ago. I don’t remember exactly how long it took, but my guess would be about 25-35 mins. I’d say just keep an eye on them and you will do just fine.

How hot/ temp on the pit barrel?
@GrillMarkCo2 жыл бұрын
The pitbarrel, GENERALLY, runs at 275°F. It can run a little hotter or cooler depending on how much charcoal is lit.

Why charcoal in the rub? It doesn't add any flavor
@GrillMarkCo2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely right! Like I said in the video, it doesn’t add flavor at all. What it does is give it some great presentation with an amazing crust. That being said, it does help with the flavor of the Hawaiian lava salt, or so it says. I personally added it because I like the crust it gives us. It’s a nice touch and you can see at the end it did look great.

@@GrillMarkCo eating charcoal just isn't real appetizing

I hear you, its very little charcoal. However, there is activated charcoal in MANY things that you eat and drink daily. Also there is plenty in rubs on the market. It is nothing new. The charcoal is flavorless, it adds an amazing color and crust. That is the added benefit.
