I think where you tapped, you only changed the sample of one oscillator within a preset, not actually presets (which also explains why they sound so similar - two of three oscillators as well as the settings for sample playback will be the same like this)... Still, interesting exploration! I should receive a Lemondrop of my own today, really looking forward to checking it out myself as well!

@@blenderbuch Ah well, it happens 😂 Yeah, definitely was interesting. I received my little box now, can't wait to unwrap it after work!
These minisynths in a box are really vsts but hardware packaged. Personally thinking there's good rope from not having load on a CPU but I would prefer they drop the price and don't have a screen just a few controls but having a pc mimic for editing. The price is firmly in the real synth with keyboard territory. But the idea with this new format for synths is highly inventive. Choosing granular is a good idea because it has little hardware support to date but has massive potential for sound invention. The one thing I really really like is the XY controller. Amazingly very few synths have this controller. 4 note poly isn't something great though and bare minimum.

I think the type of evolving sounds that this is suited to don’t lend themselves to polyphonic playing so four notes should be plenty. Shame they didn’t use the Bluebox/Blackbox form factor.

But you forgot to measure the most important part, Fun!! Vst is no fun or feel. Just sound. Feel and fun is more valuable to me than even the sound itself. Musicians can make good sound if they’re having fun and enjoying themselves. Price is totally worth it imo.

@@glynnpowell7864 - agreed. VSTs don’t interest me in the slightest but I love hardware.

You could apply this to any hardware piece if gear. A vst synth just isnt the same l i guess you either a hardware type of person or a daw kind of person. The endless possibilties of ableton for instance just are a huge turnoff for me. Also turning on your Gear and just start off is so emidiate it ignites your creativiteit in a way a daw just doesnt.
