These lines really moved me. "I couldn't help but wonder what they were really crying for ? The death of their mythical husband, Years of discrimination and humiliation, Or their longing for true love ?" And Rosh sums it up beautifully in the end when he says "I just realized that they will never experience the love of a true bride, but they will forever feel the pain of a bride who has lost her husband." Great work 101 India.

Thanuja is immensely strong, through hardship and struggle in a country that is so conservative and to fight to be able to be who she is and then again fight for her community and other lgbtq people to prevent them going through that hardship. For the first time I did not feel like watching a documentary but felt like watching an experience. The host was honest and super cute at parts, but keeping that apart the story that he tried to tell was very good and touching. It did send me to a world without social barrier where everyone is treated as the same the way it should be.

Good on these people making a documentary and educating us all more! Really interesting and makes me feel happy seeing communities together and ways of being accepted and festivals to present their identity. Thanuja is the BEST I actually looked up this documentary from a tik tok reel of feminists because she’s speaks so powerfully. At the same time, I can see there’s some problematic parts in how it is presented in this documentary and some bias he has, but hey we are all shaped by society around us. Loved the representation of the end though, love and loss :( I hope they can be true brides and truly marry if that’s what he means when he says they will never feel the pain of a “true” bride. This is some of the stuff that struck me: “Dont get excited I’m not gay” - why does he make jokes? Does he think that if she sees him as gay then she will get excited? She’s a woman, if anything she will get excited that you’re straight. I could see even she was correcting him like saying good for you when he said he is straight...shouldn’t need to say that. She seems more secure in her identity than he is if he seems gay, has to correct it straight away. I thought that was interesting 🤷🏻♀️ The way he jumped when the transgender woman came up to him I wonder if he would react that way if it was a random straight woman. And the beauty pageant, sad that being transgender becomes acceptable because people are beautiful and celebrities come with/because of the big media presence. Sounds sad that people can’t just show up as themselves in the street without putting in as much effort and be accepted as they are 🤷🏻♀️ and this happens a lot in other places anyway.

@@rahul8183 If men wouldn’t be looking for it in the first place, these jobs wouldn’t have even started though. So... Also I do agree with your point that some people would end up jobless but I don’t think you understand the fact that most women that become a prostitute do onlyfans ext. Often feel forced by the society we live in to sell their body’s for money, wich is extremely sad. Worst thing? We have the power to stop it, yet we choose not to, because of people like you who certainly miss the point. Most people who work in positions like those are extremely emotionally damaged people, the only do it because they NEED the money (no all of them ofcourse but a big portion of them). You seem to lack an understanding of the people in the positions that you are using as an example, wich just shows how unknowing you are.
