I love how you’ve turned things around now. You spent a big part of the winter feeling frustrated about not being able to get ‘home’ to the marina (even though you had your home with you all the time!) and now, here you are, out cruising again and saying how good it feels to be doing that. You see, it’s all about balance - seek the shelter and safety of the marinas when, and if, you need to, but being out cruising, meeting other boaters, being free is probably the best thing ever. Very enjoyable vlog. Really lovely walk around the reservoir. I hope you had an enjoyable birthday Anthony....close to the big 50 now...:) I think the people commenting about the people that have sold or are selling their narrowboats are just feeling a tad lost. Although we are armchair travellers, most people that do the vlogs make us feel as if we are along for the ride, so when the ride ends we can perhaps feel a bit adrift. To me that just shows how much we enjoyed watching the vlogs and it takes a little while to accept change. The Foxes are still continuing to vlog, just different content, but still very enjoyable. CTC is also still doing his vlogs. I find it all of interest and am very thankful that I can sit in my lounge chair in Australia and see people living a different lifestyle. Thank you Paul and Anthony for another half hours enjoyment. Cheers.

Great video, to be nearly free of the closure and with the joy of spring . Very interested in the lithium hybrid system. Going to fit a big solar panel and I think add a lithium battery after watching this. Currently still in the boatyard on the Great Ouse, grit blast and 2 pack all done on my old timer boat, lorry lift to Garstang on Wednesday :)

Hi Richard, glad you enjoyed it, couldn’t quite believe it when we left and got through the breach after all that time. The lithium is doing great. Unfortunately our alternator belt snapped, it was due to be replaced so nothing to do with the lithium and we would have been at 100% charge. But even without a full charge we haven’t had to run the engine since Monday. Good luck on Wednesday 👍

Good morning boys🌞. What a beautiful vlog in the spring sunshine. So glad the new battery set up is a winner for you. I watched Heidi’s episode when her Dad fitted the Rum Wench with a lithium. She seems amazed by the difference. Those of us living in a house take our power for granted. Lovely walk around the reservoir also. You do meet some interesting people and who do lovely things for you ie lithium battery, but some make you gain pounds, not the ££, ie Pendle Witch Sweet Boat. It is great to be out on the cut again, spectacular scenery, also nice to see different areas away from the canal and you always come across a cafe, bakery or pub. I did feel sorry for Dexter with nothing from the sweet boat or the bakery, only a visit to the vets to look forward to. Enjoy the spring you three xxx

Happy Birthday Anthony,when I hit 50 I decided to count down instead of up 49, 48, 47 and then I realized I probably wouldn’t live to 100 so I was counting down the rest of my life so I stopped that too. Now I’m back to counting my true age and celebrating I’ve made it through another year. It’s funny, or not, that once myself and others I’ve talked to, when I turned 55 I began to think of my mortality a fair bit and began wondering how long I’d live. My gran passed away at 65 😳 and my Mum was sure she was going to go any time at that age but she lived to be 80. Anyway, enough of that, it looks like you’re really enjoying being out cruising again, can’t wait till it’s all green and pretty again. Happy cruising🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

hey you and i had the same idea . so whats wrong with going down to age 25, then counting upwards to fifty again, rinse repeat, so you get aging naturally but at a reduced rate of decline. so cool that you choose 50 as a turn around,,,

I used to live in Pontefract where your favourate sweets are made Anthony, the name Pontefract means Broken Bridge and theres a Weatherspoons pub in the town called The Broken Bridge. The part at the beginning in the early morning with the birds singing and the mist on the water was lovely. And then the extended chat between you two as you cruised down the canal was very entertaining--a nice combination of nature scenery behind you, everyday chatting, and then a nice dose of tech geekery (which I actually enjoy--boating seems to combine both nature and tech geekery in a wonderful way!). And seriously, Anthony, I would never have guessed you were 49--you do look so much younger! Happy Birthday!

What a beautiful area you are in. Those baby lambs were so cute. We have a thorned tree here, called a mesquite tree.
