Women do be doing too much for hair growth. It’s the fact that people still believe dirty hair is the solution to hair growth. They act like they don’t know hair grows regardless unless you have a illness

Hilarious watching this again. What doesn’t make sense to me is when she said your video made her sad and embarrassed. She wasn’t embarrassed telling the world she doesn’t wash her hair for 8 months and that she gets excited when she sees build up?Make that make sense.

That would had caused it to mat up due to build up and shed hair. Taking down and detangle her hair one at a time was the best thing to do. By washing it before the hair would have shrink up with all the shedded hair and buildup.

She is old enough to know to wash her hair. I agree that her video is not good for the image of black women. I am the least judgmental person. I don't think she is a bad person. She has beautiful hair. From what I can tell it is healthy. I love how you are a grown man about the situation. When I was younger I had stylist and adults shaming me for my hair and not teaching me. Thank you for not intentionally humiliating her and speak to her. I have watched your content for a while. You come from a place of love. She is young. She need to understand the important of taking responsibility for the content that you put out. She should have just let the situation go. I am sure that she could have found you on other platforms and talked it out. You remind me of a stylist a stylist who was professional and honest. Shante Wilson who in Mocksville NC and I believe her salon is still in Winston-Salem NC. She would slay some hair. She would give you & your hair life. Due to my own life issues and poor choices yearsss ago. I was unable to continue as a client.

I wash my hair once a week and sometimes 3 times a week in the summer which causes a lot of damage, but I honestly can't help it. I just keep it short and my stylist does deep conditioning treatments. I could not even imagine going that long without washing my hair. It would drive me crazy, they are doing this in the summer months omg I mean it's gross anytime of the year but oh my God disgusting.

I should have been more clear, I wash my hair too often to have color treated and permed hair. I live in Southern California the Temps can get as high as 119 out here in summer. I swim a lot, work two jobs and am in school so I am not as gentle with Mt hair as I should be especially for all it has to endure out here. Also our water is terrible here.

3:10 this shit is hilarious 😂😂😂😂 In my last hairstyle my mom rlly wanted me to get rubber bands on the roots and I was like I don’t want it then she said okay for the first week at least. She never ended up taking them out for me cause she was busy (some just popped) Anyways I took them out and I had the twists in for like two weeks and the rubber bands collected the dirt and stuff, I know that’s what happens in a hair style, but it looked rlly bad because it was in my spot like her 🤷🏽‍♀

There are ways to go without washing your hair with shampoo and water for extended periods of time BUT you have to still clean your scalp and remove the old oils and dead skin and dirt and dust from your hair. I like to watch historical fashion and beauty channels lol. Honestly it's easier and less time consuming to just use soap and water. We've moved on from greased and powdered hair for a reason.

@@curlychronicles of course not. I wouldn't allow that to happen. We spent hours honoring and paying homage to you and other pillars kicking starting the natural hair community in a separate stream. It's crazy how so many people here now aren't even aware of the women like yourselves but then have the nerve to blame us for a failed movement. I don't even allow the community to blame you and other OGs for "failing" the community. It's a huge disrespect and a slap in the face of women who pioneered the acceptance, versatility, and shift in the social-commercial market of natural hair. Girl don't even get me started on that... @@AfrikanHairGod aww y’all are so kind! It’s crazy that many naturals seemed of have a different experience than the OGs and it’s probably because the movement got a little wonky later on. I dunno what happen when I left but wow I was like this is where we are? I feel bad for those who came later and had to deal with a different type community but I do think with anything you have to create the experience you want to have. You create your own little community within the natural hair community. You don’t go “well all these other naturals are doing xyz and it’s annoying so I’m out” that’s the worst thing you can do. I remember naturals at my meetup were loving their hair and the range was there from 3a to 4c and we even had some type 2s in the house from time to time because it was open for anyone to come hang out. Man how times have changed! Shit I might need to do a video on this cause woo chile! 😆
