Jesus Wept! Albert Tatlock just made Minnie Caldwell add another sugar and it was literally in front of him!😂 Someone like him would drive you nuts, but he's bloody funny!

The scene with Minnie & Albert at 19:08 is one of the best scenes I've seen. By God, seeing them argue could make anyone laugh. I love how Minnie stood her ground and had a go at him at the end, he deserved it! As funny as Albert is, he'd be a right pain to live with. Bless Minnie Caldwell, she was so cute and sweet. One of the best characters in my opinion

To differentiate the class element between both barmaids. Elizabeth to elevate that she's far classier than Bet, who is far more common, in Annie's eyes.

Yes - New Years Eve or Hoggmanay as we call it here in Scotland it is said to be good luck for the first person to walk through your front door after the bells of midnight to be tall dark and handsome - he was expected to bring with him a lump of coal tho i dont think thats expected now we all mostly have electric heating or gas central heating - he would then participate in a feast of steak pie followed by blackbun and whisky - on the last day of the year it was customary for the lady of the house to clean and scrub everything in sight to bring the new year in with a clean hoose (Scottish for house)
