Hi Ms. Carrasco, I am writing a book about the Afro Set and the Black Power Movement in the city of Cleveland in the 1960's and 1970's. I wanted to know if I could interview you or Mr. Willis? 216-526-5241

What an amazing story It is very similar to Black Wall Street I'm from Cleveland and I remember how Winston made that part of Euclid Avenue look like a little Las Vegas.

I remember the good old days of Cleveland, with Winston Willis, Danny Green and the Italian Mafia. The city was safe for everyday residents back then.

I was a young grad student when I met Winston at the CWRU law library. It was probably late 1986 and we developed an unlikely but special friendship. Such a dynamic, brilliant and fascinating man.

@@aundrawilliscarrasco875 Thank you for passing on my love!! I will absolutely be buying your book. Additionally, my son is a junior at Harvard writing his Junior Paper on "the American tradition of abusing history to minimize white-dominated institutions' roles in the destruction of America's ethnically marginalized communities to preserve the precious notion of white innocence." I have begun telling him about Winston and now wonder if he may devote his Senior thesis to as aspect of Winston's story.

I will share with you that a few years ago a student at Case Western Reserve University law school wrote her thesis based on Winston's history, and she won an award. My best to your son, and if he is in need of further information about Winston, he can e-mail me at: aundra.willis@gmail.com

We watched all those Kung Fu flicks...& Black movies also.....Wow So sorry about how they treated your brother .. CLEVELAND was so corrupt in those days. Much love Kenn

This man's life story is screaming for a Hollywood Oscar style movie. Shame they are doing remakes of Color Purple rather than this gem. Hope someone wakes up.

Thank you! I've been trying for years with no success. As you say, filmmakers are stuck on remakes! I have not given up hope yet though and I will keep trying.

Aundra Willis Carrasco I’ve always known just a little about this story. My father was a major politician in town back in the 60s and 70s. I wish I had been far more aware of the city back then. I can tell you one thing he and I both hated John T Corrigan he was a bastard. I will share this teaser and the story written on medium.com, the clinic and these other bastards that have been running this city are disgusting they produced the division and derision The continues to this day. Makes me ill.

@@shesheshe9389 Indeed it is. Read, "WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING" written by Alyssa Cole. It's a novel about the "Gentrification" of a historically Black neighborhood. Very eye-opening "thrilller." Most people don't have any idea that this is how it really is done, in more than one case, I'd venture to say.
