A cracking video showing what I refer to as another great day on the hill. It was a pleasure not a chore for all concerned. Thanks for the kind comments. To answer one question posed, we often do walk the 2 miles back to the top, or bottom, depending where we've parked our cars. On this occasion, myself and Andy moved our cars to the Trencherfield Mill in Wigan near lock 87, cadged a lift off duty (no lifejackets) with Paul & Anthony to Parbold, then got the train back to Wigan.

Just Wow this weeks vlog had everything,the gorgeous Dexter beautiful birdsong and the synchronised geese. It was fascinating to listen to Peter talking about the historical interest in the area. Haigh Hall is a lovely building I hope they are able to get the funds to fix it up and reopen it. I loved the photo of you and Anthony on your wedding day there💜💜. Beautiful shot of the two birds landing on the canal it was great to watch.... thanks again for a great vlog.... msg for Anthony - we had been msging recently about making a poncho for you sweetie as luck would have it - not - I am sorry to say that as I am currently going thru issues with my arm/hand with ulna nerve entrapment which makes it is difficult and some days impossible for me to crochet/knit etc....as the ring & little fingers are numb & unable to grab things although I am managing to use the 3 other fingers lol ok ie to type etc... but it is difficult so I am sorry to say the poncho will have to be a future project... Thanks guys for Vlog and letting us take a memorable trip through the Wigan locks and a lovely stretch of the canal. Spring is a great time to see all the different shades of colours on the new foliage on trees, even purple, yellow and white on some of the trees. 😀 Would be a bonus if more murals could be seen on the buildings along the canal to add to the views. He seemed to enjoy having a doggy friend for the day as well. 💗 The locks are very interesting and it's certainly nice that it was a collaborative journey and definitely nice to help a solo boater. @@anthonysmith-storey9247 I really can't imagine how the hall has been missed and I hope that is corrected. That's one of the things that impresses me the most about the UK. Everything was built to last (stone is incredible) and the National Trust seems to be intent on saving as much as they can. Here preservation is hit and miss and mostly at a very local level. I guess it has to be local because the country is so big. ❤ Till next time!

Hi Indecisive and Anthony. Another Lovely Vlog. How nice to see Paul and Dexter-Dog re-visit Haigh Hall. It must bring lovely memories back for you both. I love it around Wigan. I used to go to the old Wigan Market. One could get some really tasty meat pies there, and of course, one always had to buy the famous "Uncle Joe's Mint Balls". I wonder if their factory is still there? Loving you chatting to each other on the boat. Passing the sharp right-hand turn under a very low bridge, was that an inlet, or even maybe a feed for the canal? I also loved that you were still discussing your on-going route plan which I thought was brilliant. The Wigan Flight was spectacular. Great footage of the locks. It must have been a great help to have CRT and a friend assist on these locks, (with so much to do). Wigan Pier is very special, been passed it loads of times. Hello You Three - greetings from Poland That was by far the most interesting video you've ever made. Chris and Andy were brilliant with their historical information and explanation on what we were looking at. It's amazing to think that in my lifetime (early 1960s), I can remember this part of the LL canal as being very industrial, dirty, smelly and busy with traffic. Now, it's a haven of peacefulness and tranquility. The journey down The Wigan Flight was amazing. 21 locks in two and a half miles, droping down some 250 feet. A real adventure. A record perhaps in the time taken by you guys? Lovely to see Dexter and his pal enjoying themselves too. He's a wonderful dog. Did he get any pie Paul? Thanks again for a superb vlog. I always wonder how the Lockies get back home, if it took you 3 hours to do the flight, how long will it take them to walk back? Or do they get a lift? Are you still working at the hospital Anthony? I don't know if you remember I told you months back about having to have a CT scan, well it turns out I have Polycystic liver disease. Hey Cazzy. Peter and Andy were amazing help. They got the train back when they left us which was only a 10 min walk. I do remember you going for CT. We used to see quite a bit of poly cystic liver disease and still do with ultrasound (which is what I do now) It is closely related to poly cystic kidney disease and many patients have both. Fortunately the liver is probably the most amazing organ at regeneration and most people have no issues with these cysts. Hope this is the case for you. Take care and have a good weekend. ❤️

@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Yes, the Facebook group I'm on a lot of people seem to have both. Thankfully touch wood, we just have the PLD. Runs in the family. As my sister says, who also has it, there are a lot worse genetic diseases to have than this. Apart from looking pregnant lol we don't get many problems really. Most of us found out in late 40's at Ultrasound scans for something else but none of us surprised due to the tummies x

Paul have you see many Swif's this year as i have only seen a hand full this year . But a lot more Swallows and Sand Martins. And only a hand full of House martins. Not that many this year at all.

If washing up we boil the kettle. We have an ebaspacher that gives us hot water for showers etc 👍

We have an ebaspacher as well but this heats the rads as well. Is there any way we can just heat the calorifier?

@@lesmurray1732 hi Les. You could always turn radiators off. That is what we do in the summer. We are also looking at the possibility of a solar dump which feeds excess power into the immersion to give hot water. ❤️

Apologies. Was it the noise of the water at the gate locks or the wind noise? We do have a dead cat microphone shield but on very windy days it doesn’t help that much.

I struggle to understand Paul without the background noise 😂. Sorry Graham. Sometimes the camera picks up the loaders noise which in this case was the water. Hope it didn’t spoil it too much. Have a good weekend ❤️
