What a nice combo, GPU and Waterblock. Its from 2017 and still with a solid performance nowadays. A monster!

Thanks for your comment 🙏 Yes, absolutely. I was pleasantly surprised by the card and water block throughout the putting together the video. The water block wasn't very much different than all the other blocks I handled. It was fairly intricate with all the little parts and the flow path. It cooled the card perfectly well. Never hit 40C even with the max OC (wasn't stable past what I had it at), but that more likely a reflection of the card rather than the water cooling itself. As for the card. Well, the PCB reminds of like a PCB from the 20 and 30 series, rather than the 900 series, with the exception of the memory chips being smaller. Using FSR-quality and getting Cyberpunk over 60FPS with rasterization maxed (no RT), was something I didn't except.

Im still running my 1080 Ti FE stock, i've previously changed the thermal paste but reached my breaking point (not on performance, but no matter which fan curve is being used, the sound of the Jet Engine launching when it goes above 60% speed is a big nope). I reached the point now where I am to watercool the 1080 using the Kraken G12 solution paired with a Corsair H75 AIO in order to clock the old one up. (currently underclocked to avoid the fan to go balls to the walls) As Im on an old MB MSI Z270 Gaming Pro my bottleneck is the I7-7700k, and as such I will upgrade my MB & Processor before touching the GPU, so making it hold for another 1-2 years of gaming so I can either land on Nvidia's 5-series when it releases or go with a 4090. Great vid, lovely waterblock, you earned my sub!

Thanks for your comment 🙏 and I appreciate the words. I am stoked that I even have the current subscribers. I plan to make best efforts to improve the videos each time. I have more videos coming (Optimus Signature v3, Heatkiller 420 Noctua Mora, Full "no-frills" custom loop build to made a few in the works). Thank you again for watching

I now have a 4080, but I had been running a 1080 since 2019 and it ran new games at medium to high settings. It actually ran Baldur's Gate 3 almost like butter. Ofc, it was overclocked but not by much. The 1080's extremely solid.

Thanks for your comment 🙏First of all, congrats on your further ascension with your 4080. Second of all, another BG3 fan? It's like an endless bag of unbelievable content. Lastly, yes, the 1080 Ti is rock solid.

Thanks for your comment 🙏 I appreciate the words and I plan to put out more videos and will make best efforts to improve them each time. The next one will be on the Optimus CPU Signature v3 water block, with a "No frills" build and HK 420 Noctua Mora videos to follow, as well as GPU block videos when they release (Optimus for 4090 FE) and GPUs when they release (like the upcoming RTX 4080 Supers as rumored) Hope that helps

Thanks for your comment 🙏 Oh, you're flat out right. I used the HK manual online at the Watercool website for the installation. I double checked it this morning and then realized that I had pulled up the instructions for the regular 1080 version. The 1080 Ti uses the Titan X manual. Oof. Good catch. I actually missed a bunch of places to put pads. No wonder I had the extra pads. I'll make sure to take the block apart and redo the front side thermal pads. Thanks for your help

Thanks for your comment 🙏Yessir. I replied to the comment above the same. I had (slowly) realized that I pulled the wrong set of instructions online. I was using the 1080 manual and not the Titan X/1080 Ti manual. I had leftover pads that I thought were extra. I'll make sure to pull the block apart again and redo the pads. Hope that helps

Thanks for your comment 🙏Yes, absolutely. I was pleasantly surprised when FSR-quality was able to push Cyberpunk 2077 to comfortably above 60 FPS with rasterization maxed out on 1440p. I had a EVGA 560 Ti from 2013 all the way until 2019. Thanks again for watching and commenting

fyi those are hex screws amd not torx. torx is star shaped. and one advice: never remove both sides of thermal pad befor instalation. only remove one (usually thiner) side and keep rigid one on pad and istal all pads. after placing pads remove second protective film of pads. the ridgid (thicker) part is for instalation and it protect pads from stretching it. if you stretch pad in middle, you will not have good contact.

Thanks for your comment 🙏You're flat out right about the hex screws. To think, I spent time redoing the audio to make sure I was saying "Torx" and not "Torque" only for them to be obviously Hex screws. Good catch and I overlooked that. I'll make sure to double check the type of screws I'm using, it's not my intention to make those errors that I can't correct. As for the thermal pads. Well, I do struggle with that section and have I tried almost every single conceivable way of putting on the thermal pads for the camera. Keep in mind, the narration doesn't say that this is the way to do it but simply to remember to peel off both sides. I started with the way that you described, but keep in mind that trying to peel pads for the camera with gloves on ... is not as easy as it sounds. I only have 1 chance with thermal pads because they are so delicate. I struggled with whether or not to show close ups or full views. On average there are 15 or so pads to peel. With two peels per pads that's like a lot of peels to try to get into focus. Further, part of the audience don't care about the pads while others absolutely care a lot (so its a balancing act). If I show a full view of the pads and then show a close up, that is moving the camera twice for a single thermal pad, which also prevents me from showing a long clear wide shot. Having said all of that, I do recognize that the thermal pad section of the videos can use improvement and I plan to make improvements with each new video. Thanks again for watching and for the feedback. Hope that helps

Thanks for your comment 🙏You're flat out right. To think, I spent time redoing audio to make sure I was saying "Torx" and not "Torque" only to find out they are all Hex. Oof, its an oversight and it's not my intention to make such glaring mistakes but I certainly will double check the screws types in all future videos. Thanks for the feedback and hope that helps

3060 is 3 generations after 1080 not 2
@vectornetwork
@vectornetwork 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment 🙏 My understanding is that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 is two generations after the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. The 1080 Ti belongs to the 10th series (Pascal architecture), while the 3060 belongs to the 30th series (Ampere architecture).
