Morning Nanou and Grinch I hope it’s a beautiful day there. We finally got a bit of rain, scary how little we have actually had this year so far. But apparently what we did have did in my garlic in pots 🤦🏼‍♀️ oh well live and learn. I am hopeful that I can remove (kill) the fungus gnats before they take over the entire poly 🤞. Aren’t they cool and very heavy so should last a while. Painted red and hanging in the cage 👍. Have an awesome weekend and happiness is a garden 🥰 with loved ones

Hi Ali 🤗 Tete a Tete daffodils look absolutely gorgeous. Nice to see your winter sowings germinating. Those fungus gnats are right pests aren't they. Those sticky things are brilliant but so so sticky! 😂 Good idea to just stick the edges then you can turn it over once it's full. 👍 I like to mix up my flower colours too, I think they look prettier than way. I'm so pleased you are joining in with the sunflower challenge 🌻❤

I think definitely more daffodils 🌼 next year no one seems to eat them 🤭🤭. Oh my I was floored by how many there were in that one pot. Must have had lots of eggs in the compost I used 😱. Should be fun I’ve grown a few varieties Linda so hoping one is huge 🤣🤣

Hi Ali. Looks like you're getting into full swing in the garden. Lots of seed sowing. The greenhouse is a favourite place to be on a cold or wet day. I always love seeing the red iron work. Hi cous dwarf cosmos was better for me than the taller ones, they take ages to flower. Hope the allium flowers, it was about 5 feet tall 💪. Good luck with the grow along.💪👍😁👌🙏❤️

Yes I agree the huge cosmo or marigolds overtook too much space last year so I’m hopeful for a nice compact show of colours 🤪. I will find a lovely spot for the giant lily and again thank you so much I will call her Nichola 🥰. Hope the sunflowers 🌻 do well my largest was over 14’ so I’m 💪💪 going for gold. Thats what Julie does. Gets loads of daffs free every year from shops/garden centres as they throw them out. Great looking compost Ali. Id use bark for the paths as when it rots it can go in the compost. Gravel cant and as soil drops in it weeds will grow. Great polytunnel set up. Giving me ideas. lol, Great to get sowing all those seeds.

First off hope Tricia’s hand is better 🖕 🤭. I stopped growing parsnips because I’m the only one that likes them but it seems a trend so why not. Sunflowers are a popping already so hope they do ok I did loads of the little teddy bear ones this year. Easter break so yes crap,weather here too. Rusty birds for the win 🥇 in a rusty garden 🥰. Working on the fungus gnats issue is a priority not because they will do a lot of damage but just because 😏. I love your channel and the story behind it all, so it will be great to see it continue to grow and get the recognition it deserves. Morning Mark I may regret doing parsnips but it’s always a gamble 🤭. My radish crops last year were garbage but May as it just got too hot and they died almost right away. I'm in Gerald's camp on the radish front....I love "em too. The garden is looking fab. I need that red shirt...it's great. My problem with sunflowers is the squirrels! Those Agralan look so good. Can't find them here in the USA. Made it back home today before some snow arrives tomorrow...yay ...not.

I had terrible luck with radish last summer it got wayyyy too hot so,I’m trying more but earlier this year 🤪 it’s all about Gerald’s money n hues from the garden. Garden is coming along and getting lots done. But it’s raining today so a break outside to pot on things inside. I will probably regret sunflowers 😃 as they do love to attract squirrels 🐿️. It I’m growing small ones too so hopefully I’ll get those on the patio. The agralan too ages to find at a not break the bank price although no where near as cheap as in the UK. I saw one on Amazon US but again not cheap, perhaps next Christmas if your good 🤭🤭. Sorry about the snow again I know it’s been a bad one back east too. But this too shall pass have a fantastic weekend and keep warm 🥰

It has been pouring here and the other day hail. I may wish to be behind 🤭 by the time I can pot out anything the house will once again look like a garden centre. I envy the amount of land and space you have 😁 I wish I had a quarter of it! As for the fungus gnats, they are a pain, I use gravel on the houseplants to break the cycle, but outside and so many pots I can imagine its a bloody pain...

4:20 If you have the fungus gnats in your greenhouse, with the sticky tape, you should also spread cinnamon powder on the surface around the plant, making sure to cover all the soil!

Love the beds I’m surprised you can remember what’s in each bed,we’ve had quite a bit of rain also. Soon be hot and dry and run out of water, looks like you like the radish. The pots have no bottom so access to watering and space below, it the main reason is I can amend the soil just in that one area instead of trying to amend the entire bed. 😜😜 that’s the theory anyway Lyn. It is crazy seedling shuffle time now both in the house and out. Hope you are having a fantastic season so far 🥰👍

Hi Ali. That's the thing about Spring. Temperature all over the place. It's turning cold here but the greenhouses are bustling. Where I live, the local garden centre has a large bag, where customers dump their old plant pots. You can help yourself, so I'm not short of planting pots of all sizes. Recycling and saving money 👍 Do you have a local garden centre and if so, it would be interesting to see what it looks like. Your daffodils are very pretty, as are the crocusses. Great update Ali. Hi Ali, thanks for the mention, I've made a note that you sowed your collards 19th march and will see when you start harvesting from them so I can plan them in for next year. Have you tried feeding the slugs? none of my kales have been touched by slugs where I inter planted with Chinese cabbages which have been devoured by the slugs and worms. Going to try it with all my brassicas this year.

🤪🤪 it goes against my grain to feed them but your probably right I just need to learn to let with them and distract them with other things. I’ve been working in the brassica cage today getting the roof back on (snow means it has to come off each winter). Thank goodness for the other raised bed of garlic Mike or I’d have none. I assume the elephant garlic just got too wet and snowed on. Those pot all have huge holes in them so it should not have been a problem. I have pots and pots of bulbs doing the same thing 😭😭 mush. Oh well liv and learn life goes on and spring is definitely kicked off 👍

I’m so glad I have the daffodils because the tulips 🌷 are a total fail this year 😢😢. I think 🤔 I’m going to give up on tulips and do more varieties of daffodils next year. If you mean the small one they are Agralan and you can get them on Amazon UK not cheap but very well made and should last years 🤞🤞. Hope you have a great weekend but don’t overdo it remember there’s always tomorrow 🥰

Interesting one on the Hydrogen Peroxide! I've really struggled with my peppers and chilli's this year, even sown early Jan, riddled with fungus gnats, I've been spraying with diluted vinegar/dish soap. i've given up and sown more 😞

Oh no Anita they are brutal aren’t they 😢😢 I ended up repotting my strawberries 🍓 in new soil. Hopefully 🤞 they won’t return. My peppers 🫑 are too small for gnats to be interested in because they are still on seed soil and it’s drier. Hope your second ones do way better. Thanks for popping by 🥰
