Nothing better than an 1hr, ten minute talk. Please keep them coming.

I think, if suppressor manufacturer representatives come onto a podcast to talk - in detail - about suppressor cleaning, it should be fairly clear cut and objective. What I got here was largely no better than basic advice on a forum. I in no way say that in a mean spirited manner, but if you represent a suppressor company then you should be pretty familiar with exactly what regimen your company uses to clean suppressors and what they recommend. I mean, Rugged sends a specific cleaning regimen for every suppressor (at least for my sample size) that tells you exactly what they recommend.

I have got the excact same water bottle. It has been my favourite since I bought it 3 years ago. I see most people use the one with the bigger opening, in which I have one of also, but it is not good for drinking.. Fun fact. Despite the restrictive weapon policy we have here in Norway, silencers are an item anyone can pick up from a gun shop. No application, no registration, no 26 week waiting period (like it is for guns at the moment where I live).. What is not to love about that? :)

Breakthrough suppressor cleaner is now the go-to for rimfire cleaner for me! Let it soak overnight in a plastic bag or glass jar, drain and all the lead and carbon just wipes off!

Thanks for pointing out the need to focus on the mount and/or muzzle device. I’m new to this world and experienced that bare metal “carbon lock” the other day. Anti-seize compound on the taper makes sense but what a mess. I’d only do that for a rifle that *always* was shot with the suppressor.

I have been using Permatex Anti Seize gray with a toothpick on the thread and taper. Works great and load developed my 22CM shooting a .233" group, so it will not interfere. Spray bottle in the shop of simple green 50/50 water spray on hand and it comes right off. I do all my suppressors this way. Learned the Hardway with a 7.62 Ti Sig can did not break the can off after hunt and left in safe for two weeks. Took rifle outside fired two shots to break the carbon and did not work. Placed brake wrench in vise, hung rifle in on wrench, after heating lightly and spraying WD40 down the thread area of lockup (upside down in a bucket). Used a second wrench on the base of the can and it broke off. If you have a carbon locked suppressor to a carbon wrapped barrel be very careful with using a heat gun near the wrap. When I clean the rifle, I always start at the brake. Wipeout Patchout overnight soak in the barrel and on the brake will make quick work of this. 9mm brass brass brush gets the brake baffels spotless in a minute or two. Gentle cleaning on the crown with lots of soft wipes and Q-Tip's.

I love the info! Thanks for all the good information points. Do you have a favorite cleaner chemical that you find works best?
@rickschwertner282Ай бұрын
Friend of mine ran one on 6.5 creedmoor. Never cleaned it. Until it bit him in a PRS match. As he ran the bolt forward after rifle was held port arms the carbon came down between chamber and cartridge. The bolt wouldnt close. Once we had time and energy we pryed it appart and cleaned it. Over 3 oz of crud came out. The rifle/ammo required retuning because of the massive weight lose

The Simple Green soak will not mar the exterior surface of the Omega 36M or a titanium suppressor?
@scubajhoАй бұрын
I've not heard of issues with titanium in an ultrasonic cleaner. HUXWRX states an ultrasonic is fine for cleaning the Ventum, which has a titanium core.
@chipsterb4946Ай бұрын
Tech at Silencer Central told me *NO* don’t do it.

Why does the finish come off the silencerco omega 36m like its fingernail polish?? I have read so many reviews of this happening.. it happened to mine after 30 rounds of 5.56
@jonquirk9582Ай бұрын
What are you doing with it to make that happen? Mine has gotten a few scratches, but other than that it's been great

I legitimately get angry at anybody, not using a suppressor
@GummeeH3Ай бұрын
owning a suppressor for a 22, you really want as clean as possible because rimfires are dirty as all getout. The crud builds up quickly

As far as rimfire, I find... Balistol, Brass brush, brass chisel and don't buy aluminum suppressors.

SilencerCo guy really seems to be against the dip cleaners. Funny how this video comes out right after HUXWRX releases Suppressor Sauce. Coincidence?
@JimYeatsАй бұрын
It’s also funny that they work for a silencer company and don’t know what it is. Also, HUXWRX is the dumbest name ever.
