Played the demo, and saw the Item Merchant in the town doing the dance he's always done and instantly fell in love with the game. Seriously 10/10, it really feels like the Mana series done right in newer generations. Doesn't matter there's a huge world to explore, tons of secrets everywhere on the world map, or good gameplay. They're really sticking to the Mana franchise at it's core and it's fantastic. It really seems they've perfected the series with this one and I'm here for it. Can't wait for the full release...

For me must have are ofc Visions of Mana, but also Cat Quest 3. This is such a gem, especially with possibility of couch coop with second player throughout entire game. Second part was amazing so I expect this to be great as well. And it is only 16-20 EUR (at least here in EU for PS 4/5 )

Surprisingly enough ìm looking forward for Cats Quest 3, not for me but for my wife. Its one of the few cames she's played to completion, and as a bonus its a game with local coop that we can play as a couple. That's super rare nowadays especially since I'm a jrpg nut!

Hey, David. Another AMAZING video! I'm so hyped for Fields of Mistria. I played the demo, and I'm already obsessed. It hits hard with incredible nostalgia like old school Sailor Moon, Harvest Moon GBC, and even Dragon Warrior (later to be Dragon Quest). Just a minor and honestly inconsequential pronunciation thing again, in case you wanted to have it down. Isekai is pronounced Ees-ay-kie (Ees like Ys, Ay like the letter A, Kie rhymes with die).

We need more games like DQ3, 4, Sword of Mana, and Legend of Mana where you can pick the gender of your hero. I'd be way more interested in Visions if we could do that. Cat Quest 3 I'll play eventually, gotta play the other two first. That's Frontier Heroes game looks cool, but the value proposition isn't there without seeing HowLongToBeat. 30 for base game and they want 20 for the dlc. Will wait for a sale.

Hi David! Cat Quest 1 and 2 were such fun games. Definitely try out the series. Cat Quest 3 looks like a good time, and honestly the only one that really grabbed me. Recently, I've purchased/received Star Ocean The 2nd Story R (FINALLY), Jeanne d:Arc, Undernauts, and Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom. And the backlog continues to grow... Have a blessed day!

Owh, Mana is not q4 like Metahpor?! Nice. Wukong is must play for me, after that Mana's colourfulness would be great follow up. Kinda interested in Slime if they have good town building. It's really difficult nowadays to find town/base building that is not sandbox/simulation, Cataclismo is amazing but still early access.

I'll be getting Visions of Mana, eventually, and I'm also really hopeful that Star Wars Outlaws is good. Definitely waiting for the reviews on that one. I'm also marginally interested in Black Myth Wukong, but we'll see about that one, too. I've got so many games in the backlog that I actually welcome slow months... and then I see September/October and my eyes go wide LOL -- also isn't Gundam Breaker 4 supposed to be JRPG-esque? Soulslikes really aren't my thing, either. I've tried them a few times but they leave me kind of cold. Sone of these look extremely charming. Unfortunately, my backlog has gotten big enough that I need to be extremely selective in what I buy. That means the only one I'll be playing is Visions of Mana. It looks like there's something for almost everyone in August.

Hey, I'd get slaughtered with a team of all mages, too! We could be tank buddies with a motto like, "You can easily run out of MP, but you can never run out of face punches!" Probably won't be buying anything in August, but I'm almost finished with Yakuza 6, so I'll probably spend most of August playing Yakuza 7, which is Ichiban's first adventure! That and I've been picking at the first Final Fantasy Legend - which is your fault, by the way; you inspired me 😛, and I'm glad you did - so the month will be unusually RPG-heavy for me. Out of this list, though, I definitely have my eye on Visions of Mana; it looks really good!

@@davidvinc I'm grinding at the bottom of the ocean right now, and I am enjoying it so far. The beginning's a little rough, but once I really got into the monster transformation system, it got pretty exciting trying to rise through the ranks. RNG doesn't like my mutant too much, so my skills are kinda trash, but I'm glad I finally took yet another run at it. My friend and I are going to try to get more into the series; I've dubbed it Hot SaGirl Summer, because I'm a dork lol

The only one I want is Visions of Mana but its coming out at the END of August but I'm still going to play Kai/Daybreak 3rd GAME in Japanese as well sure Kai end of September in Japan but I'm still not sure HOW long Visions of Mana is going to be the last one didn't even take me 30 hours on easy mode.

Wukong, according to the developer (or someone involved with the game), said it’s actually more like God of War than a soulslike. There are probably elements of souls but it’s not in that genre completely. I’m hoping that’s true bc I’m tired of the same souls games with different skins

David, (I love your videos, by the way) but I've heard you mention throughout your videos for years now that you don't watch anime (and I can tell, lol, by the way you talked about Reincarnated as a Slime this video). I obviously know nothing about your personal life and interests, and would therefore be THOROUGHLY remiss in attempting to push anything on you; however, if you're into watching movies and television shows ("live-action", I guess I'll call it?) like you are videogames, anime has just as many different genres as what you see with other forms of media--horror, thriller, suspense, shonen (stupid Dragonball Z-type crap), and anything from goofy to serious to psychological "mindfucks" to educational, etc. It's more-or-less identical to "live action" shows in terms of genre availability. There is certainly a "barrier of entry" you must be openminded enough to practice "suspension of disbelief" with the more "cartooney" stories in some (though not all), blatant cultural differences owing to a very steep acceptance curve (though you play JRPGs, so honestly that should be inconsequential to you), and it's also best you DON'T (DO NOT) ask any anime fan whatsoever to recommend you one to start with; the reason being is that there are many, MANY off-putting tropes and "weird Japanese anime shit" in many (though not all) shows (and regular anime viewers lose sight of this, totally overlook it, and will recommend you something that'll make you **** your pants lol), and I know from personal experience you need to start very, VERY slow with that "weird shit", or you'll flat out disown the very concept of anime and sign the paperwork to have it adopted by a stake, rope, fire, bramble, and the reincarnations of the Salem witch trial court. Seriously though, I started slow and hated the vast majority of it, but over the course of approximately 6 or so years now I've come to actually prefer it over any other entertainment medium (besides RPGs... JRPGs, as I find most western attempts disappointing). Edit: Honestly, I'd recommend starting with just a movie or two if you have nothing better to do one day. They're only 90-ish minutes, complete a full story arc, are generally animated better due to budget limitations not impacting such a short work as negatively, etc.
