I went to Puerto Rico and could not speak with anyone. I could communicate in Peru and Mexico, but did not understand a single word anyone would say in Puerto Rico.

This was certainly what I would like more practice with. I have been studying for many years, yet still find it difficult often to understand others in random conversations. My in-laws are Puerto Rican, and so many times they will use words I already know, but I don’t understand it the first time. My wife and I traveled to PR for our honeymoon last year. I enjoyed it very much, yet was always critiquing my speaking and comprehension. Please continue with these types of lessons because Hector and Kevin both sound like what one will encounter in conversations.

Alittle addition to "raining cats and dogs" That from what I can remember, came from London England. In the old days when it rained really hard, dead cats and dogs would floot down the guters. Hence "It's raining cats and dogs. It really doesn't make sense in American english either. But the saying has been passed on for generations. And we interped it mean obsurd. I think lol.
