Enjoy we did it with 2 dogs last year but in reverse! Via Hirsthals and back over malmo bridge! 5700 miles in 5 weeks! Amazing

We did 7000 miles up the coast of Norway to Nordkap (good visitor centre) over to the Russian border back down thru Finland and into Sweden ferry to Germany (broken into at 2am in Sweden nr the port) Berlin etc etc onthe way home. Booze far too expensive in Norway and lpg is very very thin on the ground, fuel more expensive that UK. Don't rush it take in very easy and greatly improve ur mpg. enjoy and don'y worry about the lingo, most speak English. Stock well up with grub before u go - expensive in the three Scandinavian countries. We took booze on our second trip coz they did'nt check the first time - did'nt want to go dry the second time! Sitting on a beach with a glass of wine at midnight in midsummer was something else! Enjoy

Did a similar trip for three months earlier in the year including Nordkapp, solo with my dog. I wouldn’t have a firm plan as there are so many places to stay. From a quick look at your map I’d recommend the southern part of Norway and catching the ferry from kristiansand to Denmark rather than down through Sweden at the end.

The vehicle ferry along the Gerainger Fjord is absolutely stunning. We spent 5 weeks mainly in Fjordland and loved it.

Careful of the ticks in Sweden, especially with a dog. We just had to cut short our Norway travels (didn’t get to Lofoten and Nordkapp) as I had a tick bite in Sweden and 10 days later developed Lymes disease. Fortunately we’re familiar with ticks so knew what to look for and the treatment worked well but didn’t fancy being ill in the far North.

We are just on our way back from a fantastic 4+ weeks in Norway (7 week trip altogether). We went up Norway and down Sweden. I would definitely recommend Route 17 road from Bodo going south. Views of the Svartisen galcier are great and the beaches are gorgeous - although the weather will be very different for you. Also the Jottunheimen and Rondane national parks are pretty spectacular. Enjoy:-)

Looks like you will be up north quite late in the season. Please remember to check-in your driving weather. And if there has been a freezing night, be very very careful with summer tires and ice on the road, which might develop during the night. It's slow to melt during the day . Have a safe and fun trip.👍😃
@WanderingBirdАй бұрын
Thanks. I don’t have summer tyres- got proper all season tyres fitted before I left. And yes, I’m checking the weather ☺️

I did 7700 miles an average of 90 odd miles a day. It is a very long way north so beware of the weather.

If you haven’t already get a usbc to 5521 cable so you can power the Starlink off a powerbank as a back up. Have fun!

Is the weather sufficiently gentle for Norway during sept and October ? I was planning a trip but can't seem to get good reliable info for driving. Your thoughts would be welcome.

Like any country, it depends. It’s been pretty lovely so far!

Can trips be shared on this software so, for example, we can use your trip as a base for ours?
@WanderingBirdАй бұрын
Yup! I share trips all the time in my courses & with my membership group ☺️

Don’t drop your drink in the ice hotel. They are very slippery being made of ice. My friend picked hers up and it promptly fell on the floor and broke! 😂
