Your honesty shines through. Your concern for others shines through. I met my cardiologist while getting a stent put in widow maker. Great guy but insanely busy. Eat more brisket!

How about it. I am 55. Went to a cardiologist at 40 and was told I was fine. Good lipid profile, no diabetes, HDL 80. LDL 89, low triglycerides...you get the picture. HOWEVER, my dad died of CVD, my mom has had 2 heart attacks, lost 2 brothers already before 60. Finally went in a fought for a calcium score. 706 was my score. Pardon me, but WTF? Tried so hard to advocate and be proactive. My only living brother was put on statins and BP meds in his 30s. As a female, I was overlooked because of what seemed to be all low risk factors EXCEPT genetics. Mad? You bet. This could have been halted or slowed way back in my 40s. Any doctors out there, please consider calcium scores as part of the workup. And oh ny the way my lpl(a) is also high. Another test they eontctest for that I had to insist on. Pffft!

I'm under the impression that butter is no longer considered unhealthy. Am I incorrect regarding this?

In Canada the recommendation is two drinks per week for males. And ALL alcohol is considered bad - no small amount is considered helpful.

Over doing alcohol 4, 5, 6 drinks per day? Wow, 4 drinks per day seems like a lot to me!
@CardioGauge4 жыл бұрын
yeah, im pretty sure 3 a day would kill me. some people can do well long term with 2-3 per day, or even more. But in general, limiting to 1-2 drinks per day is the way to go.

Keto diet with lots of green low carb veggies and clean organic foods is the best. It is not the same as Atkins which is very unhealthy which allows low carb junk foods.

Good information, does butter, cheese, nescafe and jam bad for heart or health?
@CardioGauge4 жыл бұрын
Hello gc voon. Coffee overall is probably good for health, including heart health. Occasionally, people will have heart rhythm trouble with coffee, however, for most people they do fine with it. As far as butter and cheese girl, the jury is out. Believe it or not, we still don't know for sure if these are good or bad for you. Jam is basically processed sugar, and sugar is basically bad for you. Therefore, I consider jam bad for the health overall.

@@CardioGauge Hello, Dr. Gauge, is eating grass fed butter , like half of tablespoon a day , unhealthy? Since butter contains K2 vitamin, isn't that healthy for the heart?
@shawnmulberry7742 жыл бұрын
I noticed you started to breathe heavier when discusing number 4. It is frustrating to look around and see what people are eating. More sad can be people eating junk and talking about it being healthy - total delusiona nd denial. If you go through the trouble of learning to cook a little and then stop eating things packaged in a box. So more produce, fresh fish and lean meats, some more produce, and pretty much nothing in a box or can. It is hard at first but I have eaten at home for the past 7 years. I try to buy the higher quality farmers market goods. Ive lost flab and feel better.

I agree that eating crappy food is absolutely a dumb thing to do for heart health (simple carbs, starchy foods, etc), but you included butter in this group, which leads me to believe you may have bias or a knowledge gap around nutrition science, which seems ironic since so much of your information is seemingly evidence-based.
@CardioGauge4 жыл бұрын
Yes good point eaglewing, I’m not sure about butter. Lots and lots of calories which we struggle with in USA. If person can slay the simple carb demon they can have butter, but small to moderate amount probably better than unbridled use. As far as bias, I am **getting over** decades of uninformed medical school dogma. Its funny Even though I consciously try to be evidence based, I couldn’t resist a jab at butter (it is almost subconscious). I consume butter myself without hesitation. In the right diet, butter is ok. Thanks a lot for your post!

so your patients told you they can not tolerate vegan diet cause they needed the protein?? And you belived them?🤣Vegan does not mean no protein,Jeez what a concept. I am and ectomorf and i'm a vegan and i eat about 100g of protein daily,never felt better in my life. Sheeple are dumb, therefore you have to tell them exactly what to do.And then you talk about the mediteranian diet"lots of fruits and veggies,not many carbs" Well duuuhh doctor what do u think fruits and veggies are made of??of course it is carbs and lots of it. I think you'r more confused then your patients when it comes to diet thats my conclusion.rest of the video is great,ty
