Great tips! The biggest and most destructive mindsets is the need to impress people, fear of looking like a fool/failure and a need for instant gratification.
@SuraDoes

Instant gratification, comparing yourself to others and fear of failure are the WORST. Especially if you have a learning disability or are atypical.

Ive got ADHD and a physical disability, plus I suffered emotional abuse as a kid. Learning was never fun for me.as a child because it was associated with arguments and criticism. Because I couldn't concentrate like my peers, I was told off a lot by teachers, who would tell my parents, who would yell and scream at me and call me lazy. This made me rebellious and bitter, unwilling to learn from people in authority and unwilling to put much effort into stuff. With time and therapy I have managed to overcome this to an extent. I am a self employed therapist now and I am good at it. But I still feel like my bitterness and my fixed mindset is holding me back. "I won't take on that extra client, I have too much stress." "Why should I do this paperwork? Its hard and boring. You can't make me." Ect. I could be more, earn more money, have nice holidays and stuff, help more people. But I stop myself with my fixed mindset and my resentment over the past.

My problem is staying motivated when I make the same mistake over and over again during practice. Anything that is an art requires that you make the same mistake over and over again to get it right, even if you KNOW how to do it right. That is what discourages me.

can you still believe in growth mindset when at 50, you start to forget things more often and doestnt have the energy need to think things through with patience?
@whatevermalik3630

You can have a growth mindset even at 80 there is no age for it.Albert einstein had it,thomas edison had it, gandhi and jinnah had it.All the people that have achieved BIG things in life had it and people remember them for their preservation,which is not possible without a growth mindset

Most of the platitudes in this video would be nothing but harmful to anyone looking for genuinely useful information on how to alter a detrimental mindset. It's akin to telling someone who wants to climb Mount Everest that they should just start climbing and they will reach the top, without any of the extensive preparations required for potential success. Shame on you
@jayocaine2946
@jayocaine2946 Жыл бұрын
Wouldn't call anything in here a platitude, cliches yes, but platitudes no because they are obviously useful if you can move past the fact that you've heard them a million times and can actually take them seriously, (which to your one good point that you failed but I can see were trying to make), it is difficult to get past that. Your ironically cliche comparison to climbing mount everest really doesn't work in this situation, no where does she say or even imply that simply believing means you're guaranteed success. It's stated very plainly that you will fail often and things will be hard, the point which you missed by a massive margin isn't that you can do anything if you try, it's that you're limited to what you can do if you don't. Maybe youre projecting your insecurities, maybe youre trying to sabotage others, or maybe your intuition decided to take a break the day you wrote this post, but but either way:This post you wrote is doing more harm to people than good, shame on you.
