On Sept. 25, 2024, one week before Helene made landfall, 100 Republicans voted against a budget bill to continue funding the federal government, including FEMA’s disaster relief fund, through the end of 2024. Luckily, the bill passed the House by a 341-82 vote and passed the Senate by a 78-18 vote. All of the votes against the bill were Republicans. If money isn’t available, it isn’t because it’s going to Ukraine. Blame republicans for being so proactive at disenfranchising the American people. Then, to top it off, when disaster hits, they lie and further instill fear by claiming the administration isn’t doing anything and won’t help.

It would be right if in memory of all the horrible deaths of people and animals in North Carolina if a memorial is put up in their memory and laws that lithium can never be mined in NC. If lithium wasn't the reason for this, then I guess nobody will care if that law goes into effect in memory of what happened here. It takes a lot of clean water to mine lithium and the water becomes toxic and can never be used again. So that's much needed water taken from the earth permanently. No lithium mining in NC. That would be an appropriate memorial for this horrific nightmare. Don't let them sweep this under the rug.

@noblejennette2101Ай бұрын
Hurricanes are destroying literally everything in their path, they do not have an agenda, they go where the high and low pressure of our atmosphere push them. They come about more regularly and with more intensity nowadays because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is much hotter than it used to be and fuels bigger storms. Oil companies are ecstatic that you’re questioning if, perhaps, somehow, there are people with the ability to create massive weather systems and use them to target conservative parts of America. They LOVE it. Anything to keep the attention off the fact that it is the carbon dioxide that the burning of fossil fuels creates which is trapping heat in our atmosphere and warming the water and planet. Keep parroting their propaganda and you’ll have a lot more major disasters to blame liberal elites for.

@evelynmahoney3569Ай бұрын
It's not like they ignored evacuation warnings or evacuation orders. They expected heavy winds & rain, but nothing of this magnitude. When warnings or orders were eventually issued, in most cases it was too late. On the west coast, weather reports these days can tell us, for example, what time the rain will start with accuracy to within a few minutes. I remember hearing years ago that advancements in forecasting would, in the near future, be very precise. What time the first showers would begin & whether it would affect your commute, etc. was the exact example they used. Are these hurricanes all that different? You hafta wonder. Why weren't there accurate weather forecasts ahead of all this ?? I saw a YT title for a video suggesting that Govt cloudseeding imparts a surprising amount of control over these storms in terms of their strength and size, factors that determine how much devastation they're likely to cause. It also seemed to indicate that the cloudseeding influence is intentionally being made known to the public in order to effect lesser FEMA payouts. I assume that would be because in the cloudseeding scenario, it might be considered man-made and not an unforeseeable Act of God or Natural Disaster. To take it one step further, I just saw another video's title suggesting that there was targeting of specific areas of a particular economy &`culture. I didn't watch any of them, this is just what was in the titles/ descriptions. Seemed like a bit of a reach, but I wouldn't put anything past the govt. That got me wondering about why their weather forecast was so inaccurate.
