I've had a baby. You don't really learn until after you have one, no matter how many videos you watch or books you read. It is hard work, SUPER HARD! But, so rewarding. I've never loved anything so much in my life and I am happier now than what I was before. I have more of a life now as well. Definitely don't have a child if you're not ready; they should never be your biggest regret. But please don't believe your life will be over when you have one, because I assure you that's far from the truth.

@addygrl24317 жыл бұрын
Gail Daniel ~ I believe only a good parent will always be concerned about their child/children. A good parent will pray regularly and want the best for their child/children. Some self-centered ppl shouldn't be parents at all. Children need to be loved always no matter what. It's not an easy role in life at all, but it is greatly rewarding. =] ~ Blessed mother of eight.
@amandanightstar80127 жыл бұрын
+Addy Grl a good parent will always worry about their kid true but a good parent don't have to pray or be religious and a child can't be loved all the time. It doesn't help to love a child if they do something wrong they need to learn right from wrong and the best way to do that is disipline.
@addygrl24317 жыл бұрын
Silje Riksta ~ I didn't say a person needs to be religious. 0.o A prayer is not only a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship, but it's also an earnest hope or wish. A good parent is always hoping & wishing the best for their child/children. Seems like you have a distorted idea of what love is because you misinterpreted what I said. Loving your child/children doesn't mean a parent is always pleased or happy with whatever action or attitude of that child. Loving a child includes correcting & disciplining (NOT ABUSING) that child for his/her own good. There are various degrees of that parental love too. As that child matures and at times misbehaves or rebels tough love must be put into action. That's actually one of the toughest parts of being a parent. A parent disciplines a child he/she loves. Thank God there are helpful resources that ppl can get a hold of now to help guide us along the way. I read a lot of parenting material since I was a teenager and attended parenting classes to help me because I didn't have a healthy role model of family relationships. If I coming from a seriously dysfunctional background can learn to be a good parent and break the abusive cycle then there is hope for anyone that is willing to learn. =)

The clock ticking is not about your desire, it’s about how long you are physically able to have kids. Once your timer is up, you can’t have kids anymore. So many millennials don’t understand this and think it’s just as easy to have kids in their 40s as it was in their 20s. Reality check, it’s not.

Having babies are a huge responsibility and you’re going to need the time, money, devotion, love and patience to care for a child properly. 😩 I wish I was in a position to have children but I’m not. I have to wait until I move out of this studio apartment, finish college and have my career. If I can’t have children naturally I’ll definitely look into fostering and/or adoption.

I think you should also have mentioned experience with interacting/caring for kids or at least pets. It may not be an absolute must, but it can help to have practise in advance and you find out more about your own personality, abilities and weaknesses. Otherwise I think it is all good advice. Also, not everyone needs to have kids in their lifetime, not everyone is fit for it, would be happy with it, and if everyone does then the world becomes really overpopulated. But if you genuinely want kids, dont let that stop you

I'm so grateful for this video, so many parents get babies just because they're "cute and will save a relationship". Unfortunately I was one of those babies born to parents who weren't ready yet and didn't have the money to take care of a baby, which left me in a broken home with a deadbeat dad and depressed mom working hard so we can have food who got divorced shortly after I was born mostly because their child came out disabled. I wish my parents would have thought these things over beforehand, and understood that yes, their child just may be disabled and will want a good home with good parents. Oh, and 999th comment

I watched this because I was curious. Tbh, I don't even have a boyfriend atm so I shouldn't even be thinking about stuff like this... Even if I really do want to be a parent one day, only sixteen, I should be thinking about life before kids... Like school, my social life, and finding that "Special someone" amiright?
@hillaryleh57417 жыл бұрын
Raven Artist you are absolutely right. I am sure, you will make a great mom someday, if you decide to have kids in the future. For now focus on school, friends, and having friends/a social life, you're only young once after all :) Have a great day

Try to be a better person than your father *hugs you* And seriously, you are not the one who decides if you're born or not. So don't tell yourself you are a mistake or responsible for the whole situation. Your mother has given you this precious gift. You can create something beautiful with it! And even it's just being there for your mother, dealing with the situation together. I feel so sorry for your mother...please let her now my greetings from the bottom of my soul.

I don’t think you can ever be ready for being a parent. I’ve been a Mum of a daughter for 17 years and still make mistakes. Having said that though, she’s my world and the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I have few regrets. Parenting is darn hard but has its rewards. Just make sure you do I for the right reasons and with the right partner.

Its kind of a problem that parents think young kids follow INSTRUCTIONS they actually follow what parents do ya know parents are role models example my brother is hurting me because dad is hitting and punching me Edit: Parents discipline children by spanking

I am 38 and I rather just be an aunt instead. Because I remember when my youngest nephew was a baby. This was almost 10 years ago. When me and my mother would babysit him. There were many times when I couldn't take his screaming and crying. Because he did have really bad eczema at the time. Plus he is also allergic to both dogs and cats. We did had 2 other cats at the time. So maybe that was part of the problem as well. But I was always almost ready to silence him for good. Thankfully my mother was always there to shut him up. Being a parent is something I have no intentions of ever being one. And thank God the only babysitting that I do now is for my 2 cats. Especially the one who doesn't like to be left alone.

I love you guys at Bright Side! I don't know why am I watching this but I totally Agree by tip no. 7 - No one can decide what is right or Wrong for us, only time and our growth can decide what's right or not, for us. Never ever swear by people there on the internet. It's like a Pen Theory which I came across during my first Internship; hold a em infront for two or more people around you and simply observe that everyone is able to see at the Pen from different angles. Some might see the labels on it, some; just the plain body of that writing instrument. Just like that, advices and perceptions can't be universally applicable.

To now that children cost energy, time and money. You must be ready to put your child's needs before your own. If you can't wait it is nothing wrong with waiting until you feels you can give a child your everything. Every child deserves parent that give them everything they can.
@finchborat5 жыл бұрын
As someone who was born to older parents (mom was 40, dad was 43) and currently taking care of one of them with ZERO HELP (I'm in my mid 20s), I STRONGLY disagree with #7. Those who wait too long to have them (waiting until late 30s/early 40s) are ruining their children's lives before they even start. Older parents will be too tired to interact with the kids. And once the kids reach adulthood, there's a chance they'll be slapped with early caregiving. The kids lives/careers will be put on hold and they'll be forced to stay in the nest longer than they want to (or even expected too). For me, it REALLY sucks being a single, unemployed, 20-something year old caregiver who's stuck in the nest taking care of an ailing parent while watching everyone I knew in high school and college have jobs, spouses, and (for some) kids. Caregiving has been the main theme for me since I graduated college (though I've had to be a caregiver for the parent I take care of since I graduated high school). I'm really hoping early caregiving hasn't made me unemployable and forever single. PLEASE reconsider (and think twice) when it comes to having your kids late. Have them while you're young. It's okay to wait (circumstances happen; there's nothing wrong with having them after 30), just don't wait until 40. There IS such a thing as waiting too long. Rather than say "mind your own business" or "I write my own life scenario" to those who say don't wait, how about listen to them instead. Me and others who say don't wait are watching out for your future kids. It's better for the kids to take care of you AFTER they get out of the nest and get their own lives/careers launch and not BEFORE.
