In this scenario, Arkantos & co. emerge from the underworld in Egypt, where they meet the mercenary captain Amanra. She successfully gets the Greeks to help her dig up an ancient relic while fighting off the armies of Kemsyt.

I remember this one being really hard on the higher difficulties. Also love Amanra's intro. On first encountering two strange men and a half-man half-horse, she instantly puts them in a situation where they have to follow her lead.

I'm pretty sure the obelisks illuminating the paths are new, and a welcome change imo. Being able to see the multiple enemy armies coming and decide how you want to approach it is more interesting than just walling up against the fog of war and waiting to be attacked.

I believe that the walls build was removed at higher levels back in the day as well

Ah Amandra, such a favorite. I also love how Egyptian buildings are essentially free, with how broken trade is in game

The major drawback is that their build time is much slower unless you bring a pharaoh or priest

the increased pop cap from TCs is not new, but it is buffed; it used to only be +3 the house cap is 16 now, but different scenarios will have different build limits villagers will auto-attack aggressive animals if they were previously queued onto aggressive animals- you attacked the crocodile, so the vils think you're happy to let them attack other aggressive animals like the hippo (poor Nili)

Our gang just arrived in Egypt and were already conscripted into Amanra's army to guard an excavation. Yeesh, talk about a rough start to Arkantos and Co's vacation to Egypt.

Despite dropping the ability to build walls, found this scenario a lot easier than in the past on Hard Difficulty. Which is saying something given couple of the missions to come.

Felt a little bit easier than the original, i think part of it is due to the passages being longer, allowing you to regroup units.

I wish the game didn't ping you when attacks are coming in, since I don't think you need it when you have all that map vision. When I played this mission I would usually notice the attack on the minimap before the ping triggered.

This is like the only mission that's easier than the older versions of the game and I don't know why. I just ran into each lane and wiped each army and I had plenty of time to run back and forth.

if you send all your workers to the relic immediately you can finish the mission without needing to use any of your resources (on "hard" difficulty)

Why didn't you lure the hippo back to the TC lure you would do boar in AOE2?
