For those looking for more information around the "Arabic" and "Egyptian" scales, they are both derived from what is called the Double Harmonic Scale in Western Music Theory. With the "Arabic" scale being the Double Harmonic Scale, and the "Egyptian" scale being the 4 mode of the Double Harmonic Scale. So if you were to base this scale off the the degrees of Major, it would be (From C Major): 1 - b2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - b6 - 7 - 1 C - Db - E - F - G - Ab - B - C Then for the Egyptian Scale you take the intervals starting on 4 and apply them to C Major: 1 - 2 - b3 - #4 - 5 - b6 - 7 - 1 C - D - Eb - F# - G - Ab - B - C Just like Major has 7 modes, so does the Double Harmonic Scale, so you can get different flavor by using different intervals, as defined here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_harmonic_scale (Although, you may wanna stay away from the 7th - Locrian bb3 bb7)

I’m looking to produce some organic house and I’m so glad I found this channel because man you really know your stuff and it’s so helpful. I didn’t even think about tuning instruments like toms. I want to move away from analogue.

Well I'm glad you found it, too! Definitely check out the other videos on how to make Organic House. I think you'll enjoy them! Also keep in mind I do teach online lessons and courses! 😀

I've just discovered Kamilo Sanclemente, who makes this kind of organic deep house (although more South American than Middle Eastern) and he is so cool. I've been trying to create similar grooves and failing dismally so this tutorial has come at just the right time! Thanks dude :)

The Arabic scale is available in Ableton’s built-in scales as the Bhairav scale. That would be easier to use instead of adding the disabled notes at the beginning of the clip!

Great content man! Are you a Mac user or PC? If you use Mac what model would you recommend to buy if i want to do complex songs, with a lot of tracks (maybe 40-60), vst's , omnisphere, etc.
@DowdenProductionAcademy3 жыл бұрын
I'm on PC, personally. I'd suggest getting something with at least 16GB of Ram, but any more is preferred :)
@dilbydj2 жыл бұрын
I switched over from Mac to PC a little while back. I just upgraded recently and for a bit under 1k I got a laptop that runs circles around an M1. The equivalent would be around 3k or more from Apple. I definitely prefer the user interface on Mac but the price just keeps getting more and more outrageous. And I use Ableton so the DAW interface is exactly the same user experience.

How did you make the sustained bass that starts at the beginning of every bar? That is layered with the string instrument? :) Would love a tutorial on that type of bass :) Great video!
