I, too, had a border collie. Her name was Baby. She traveled over the Rainbow Bridge when she was 15 years and 15 days old in 2005. She was the best friend everyone dreams of having. When the Border Collie showed up and you were playing with the stick brought back so many memories of my Border (my buddy and driving companion for 17 years). One day when I was picking my daughter up from school, one of the teachers stopped by me and Abygale who was laying by my feet and said “are these dogs smart” and I said in a very conversational tone “Abygale, go get me a stick” and Abygale slowly got up, paused, and walked away. The teacher and I then continued our conversation for a bit. Then here comes Abygale with a stick and dropped it by my feet. The teacher looked at me with curiosity and wonder in her eyes. Probably because I didn’t speak to Abygale with a command or even try to get her attention but just the same tone as I was speaking to the teacher. Border Collies are keen listeners and extremely intelligent. Thanks Martijn for another beautiful Sunday. The ‘girls’ love you as much as we, your faithful subs, do.

This was all beautiful, I enjoyed every minute, the ‘sodemieter’ was unexpected and funny, the dog is clever and becomes your friend, the flowers a special touch, the pictures of the snow on the green a treat, the work on the wood panels craftsmanship and at the end the help you gave to your neighbor, nice! And finally you said ladies to your chickens instead of guys😂 Thank you Martijn!

I have watched you since episode one. I have watched you turn that lonely barren cabin into a cozy home. It is beautiful. The dog is adorable. A dog may not be a good idea for everyone but once you earn their love and trust you have a best friend for life. See you next week Martijn. Stay safe.

The falling snow is absolutely mesmerizingly beautiful. No snow, and then ... the next morning ... Wow 👋! I love the Wood Wall paneling. I have to confess. I was a bit worried about those unsightly concrete walls. But then, that is understandable. I am not an artisan. I am not Martijn, who had a plan, BEFORE he started his renovations 🤪. The two lady chickens are so human (and hilarious). No exploring today, thank you 🤣. But tomorrow, YES! I agree, the wall Flower Box is an iconic feature with a lot of history and sentiment.
