Interesting as always. Due to exams, I missed a few months and it's so much fun catching up. Thank you so much for your dedication to sharing your insights. It feels like I'm listening to my friends talking.

All I remember about the inkey list product is that Lab Muffin got attacked in the comments when she questioned the efficacy of succinic acid. Have you looked at adapinoid? I know Skinfix has a product in their acne line but Paula's Choice just released a retinal product that also is supposed to contain it, clinical pro retinaldehyde duel-retinoid treatment.

😅 people get very... passionate about what may have worked for them anecdotally unfortunately we haven't done anything on adapinoids yet. But it's a good idea to do an episode around these derivatives, it can get pretty crazy there too!

Yay on the upcoming book update! I’ve actually checked Skincare Decoded out from the library and have been reading it the past few weeks! I think it’s really well thought out and I love all the charts. I will say that at least one of the page references doesn’t go to the right page And also I think it would actually be pretty neat to have all the different routines on one page Here are some other areas I’m interested in: - How to “skin cycle” - How to patch test - How to determine if a product is working. Like I’m using a bunch of actives at once since getting into skincare and I’m not sure what is doing what As cosmetic chemists how would you isolate what is working from other skincare ingredients? Especially when you also want to reap the benefits of all the actives immediately… (short shelf lifes, etc)

was hoping you'd talk about centella! I really do think that has helped tremendously using in conjuction w adapalene

we have a dedicated episode on centella! we didn't really talk about it in the acne context though. we'll probably revisit again in the future :) thanks for sharing your experience

just wanted to say thank you! I make it a rule to research everything I plan on buying - skincare included, your podcast is incredibly helpful. I've been going through the archive since yesterday, and its the best thing ever. There's just so much bs and marketing in skincare world. Was there an episode on spicules? Would love to know if there's any actual science behind i

I know this is an episode on acne but, the Artemisa essence from Misha has been the best product I’ve ever used for soothing and calming inflammation.

yay! happy to hear our products are working out for you 🥰 We haven't done anything on make up. And to be honest, I've used relatively little foundation in my life I'm not sure if I can say anything super constructive. I'll look into some interesting chemist angles on it though! Maybe an episode on wear, film formers, and layering

Is mugwort the same impact as figwort when applying on skin? Such as our scalp, body, hidden sensitive akin layers?
@ChemistConfessions4 ай бұрын
from what we can see, we have less insights on figwort topically than mugwort. so it's really hard to compare the 2
