Tnx for the video. I was excited to create art on ceramic tiles a couple years ago, and now I discarded most of them. They did not sell and shipping would be too high. I sell on ebay my art, now I paint aceo cards using colored pencils/watercolors and acrylic pens, nobody interested in buying tiles. By the way the tiles could be washed with soaking. You can make them into trivets/coasters with resin.

You're welcome! When I first began using alcohol ink, I sold a lot of coasters, trivits and framed tiles that I resined over. I packed them VERY carefully and thankfully, never had an issue. These days, I get a lot of requested from IG and FB for prints of my watercolor paintings, as I seldom part with my originals. I get to attached...lol. I'm glad to hear that you are selling on Ebay and wish you much continued success.

I am going to buy some of these inks today but I can't afford n airbrush. Maybe a hair dryer with a funnel to concentrate the air flow. Maybe a straw? Anyway I'm waiting for the shop to open, I'm all excited.

Your creativity and willingness to share and help others learn is amazing! What PSI do you use when moving ink/alcohol? How many layers of resin do you prefer to use on tile? Thank you in advance!
@VivoVintageDesigns
@VivoVintageDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jane. I prefer a PSI of 30 -40 for flowers. When I resin, I only apply one layer.

Thankyou for sharing your tips ! I love your work. I do have a question that I haven’t seen answered anywhere… I live in a cold climate as I think you do too… how do you coat your tiles and paintings in the cold months? Using kryon type varnish and glaze sprays in 20 degree weather wouldn’t work.
@VivoVintageDesigns
@VivoVintageDesigns 2 жыл бұрын
I spray in my basement when it's cold. I open the windows and I have a fan in one to suck the fumes out. I only seal what I sell or give away. The rest are placed in sleeves and kept in a drawer until sold or given as a gift.

Let me start by saying your work is fabulous. Now my question, instead of snowcap do you think one could use white acrylic paint instead with the little brushes? I'm guessing if you can use posca pens which are acrylic paint then you can use paint with a brush. Would love to know your thoughts. Thank you.
@VivoVintageDesigns
@VivoVintageDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question and something I've been meaning to try. I think it would actually work better than snow cap bc it shouldn't absorb the color underneath as much or like the snow cap does. I'll give it a go this week and do a video on the results. Thanks.

I use about 3 light coats of Kamar varnish and then 3 of the UV protection. AI can fade over time. I suggest than once you seal it properly, that you display it out of direct sunlight.
