Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I drive a Dodge 2.8 diesel which I drive in the UK. England all signs indicate that the Aitor isn’t charging this system so I’m going to attempt to replace the alternator a new video as instructed thank you for your help. Have a good day. 🇺🇸🤝🇬🇧

Thanks for the video! An absolute life saver for a mechanical novice- first time doing this since back in the eighties. Did it in a little over 17:35.

Tips: Taking off the belt, to loosen tensioner pulley, tighten its bolt, it will require a lot of force. Putting belt back on, I found it most useful to put on the big loop at top middle last. I was working with a jeep liberty 08. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you Blake!

Lol, thanks for the video. Friend asked me to take her's off while she was at autozone, so 10 minutes later im up there. It tested fine, so I went back put it back in, she drove it up to autozone and the guy said, you put it in that fast? Made me look like a pro.

Lol!!! There is WWWAAAYYY more room between your coolant tank and the belt in comparison to what I have to deal with.....I think ill just let my mechanic do it. If it wasnt for the belt situation im pretty sure I could do it (dont be too hard on me Im a novice at fixing "car stuff" and im physically handicap 😁). BUT, thanks for the upload. KZbin instruction videos are much appreciated 👍

Thank you, my jeep has been making this noise for a while I thought it was the alternator but i wasn't 100% sure. And I wasn't sure how to describe it online or in person for people to help with it. Seriously thanks, I've been trying to figure it out for atleast 4 months now

Hint; Take a long screwdriver and touch the bit to the body of the alternator and the handle to your ear, it amplifies the bearing noise, if any. And hold the positive cable fitting at the alternator to prevent the possibility of busting the terminal off.

The pulley area will also get hot fast when pulley or alternator itself is going bad.

Are you referring to the alternator needing to be pried out? If so its designed to be pinched into place....

I have a Jeep Liberty 2011 is it as easy to get the connectors off as you did? I heard I need a special set of keys for the newer models
@BlakesGarage14 жыл бұрын
I don't know of a special key for electrical connectors. Chrysler connectors are definitely more of a pain though.

Mine is making a whining noise. Almost sounded like low power steering. I took the negative cable off and it stalled. Def the alternator right?
@BlakesGarage14 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a good chance. You might check with a volt meter or have your local auto parts store test the charging system to confirm.

Why do some have clutches and some don't? Mine doesn't have it. I luckily got the right alternator. I have never heard of an alternator with a clutch before.
