I have tried different types of peptides. TO buffet, TO Buffet with copper peptides, TO Peptide Eye Serum, Niod CAIS 2, DRMTGLY needle-less and peptide cream and Naturium copper peptide and their moisturizer. A lot of K-beauty with peptides. Some even with retinol and peptides. I also used it under moisturizer. I used the whole serum/cream. I specifically used it under my eyes where I can see creases. I cannot see any improvement.

Bold marketing aside, I like the COSRX Booster but the only effect I got from it is it just helps my other skincare absorb faster. It’s a cheaper way for me to have a product with “that” effect (because the other ones that gave me that effect are the Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum and the Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate - both are expensive af) 😅

Ordinary Buffet is a product I've had the longest on-off relationship with. Everytime I use it I think it's doing nothing and stop but then when I look at old pictures of when I was using it I'm shocked at how much better I looked and start using it again, only to repeat the cycle. I just never learn I guess 🤷 🤣

Speaking of peptides, have you heard of the brand Onélogy? Their whole thing is freeze dried skincare. They have five formulas, two peptides, one azelaic acid, one niacinamide and one HPR. They sell them in tablet form and you add a water or a water based serum, toner to dissolve them, mix and then apply.

While I have not seen crazy results with peptides including copper peptide, I have had very positive experiences with serums containing human stem cell culture (fibroblast, mensenchymal, bone marrow etc) conditioned media. Do you have any insight as to why these ingredients are soo expensive? I would like to see them in more serums. I currently use the J-beauty brand joie cellule, but am uncertain what percentages are used. Studies I read on this ingredient are using undiluted straight from culture.

I have seen some derms recommend peptides to folks who can't tolerate retinoids. But I've also seen some derms say peptides can act as humectants but they aren't miracle workers.

I use the Ordinary copper peptides in thé morning so I don’t mix it with other ingredients and I dont think it is complicated. I use buffet with retinal at night and it is a good product I think. I want to try the peptide serum from geek and gorgeous as the formulation seems very interesting you should look into it.

I don’t see why anyone, specifically who believes in science, would ever just be like “well, this stuff is supposed to *do* something *right*? Even though we don’t have any proof, evidence, studies, clinical trials, or really any mechanism of action either!” lol.. I just don’t understand this. At all. Like, for example…. Lithium.. We know lithium has been around forever. We know that at this point there’s not even a patent or “brand” for lithium as far as pharmaceutical oral medicine products.. because it’s been around for SO long.. AND The mechanism of action is *thought* to be a couple really key neurological things… but.. at the end of the day, we know for a fact that when you give someone with severe bipolar disorder, or a couple other psychological disorders, it just *works* and we KNOW it works. Because it’s been observed consistently for decades and decades. But with these peptides… it doesn’t really seem like there’s even observable evidence that like, “the majority of ppl who use these products end up with X results…”

Thank you! Copper peptides in the ingredients list esp are so confusing. I remember reading somewhere they can't be in thensame product with l ascorbic acid, then I saw a number of products with that exact combo. On another note entirely, I loved TO Buffet, cant say if there was any difference but it felt so nice on my skin. RNW was another product with copper peptides that had a similar feel.

(assuming ascorbic acid Vitamin C here) lower limit is pretty much at the Vitamin C serum pH and the layering interaction is temporary so we wouldn't be worried here

03:54 Sounds like copper tide pods, magically stiches all the holes in ur clothes 🤣🤣 All jokes aside, I know that most peptides cocktail are always under 1% each peptide, but do you think those peptides with each one less than 100ppm (less than 0.01%) do anything? I saw many Korean "peptides" products do this and now it spreads to US and EU brands as well.

I don't really believe that peptides are so much better than amino acids in skincare. Amino acids are frequently foemulated with peptides in skincare products and they are impressively hydrating. They are working really good WITHOUT peptides in formulas especially in Japanese skincare products like Minon.
