Ah! A smaller loop for the SCMR! I love it! I also loved using the traditional method, as well. Good practice. I shall carry on. XO~Maria

@@11Frivole Joëlle, I have completed my 36 large and small rings. Cannot quite figure how to join to the first large ring so it looks smooth. Will you show that? Once that is done, do I cut the thread? Thank you for doing this tat along. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

@@knackfulknitter Oh, you've really picked up speed! I'm nearly there myself, just a few more rings and yes, I plan on showing how to join at the end (and perhaps, how to NOT join if you want to leave it open for a collar). I'll try my best to make the next video today, tomorrow, as soon as I can! Well done for completing the first round!

@@11Frivole, thank you! It is such a smooth tatting, I could not help myself. Besides, I like to keep my hands busy. :) This tatting is going to be my best, yet...besides my knitting of many Herbert Neibling doilies. Our power was out for a bit and back on now. Time to make our main meal (lunch time).

Also how do you make Lizbeth thread not twisty, it used to be super twisty, then I learned how to roll the shuttle, but still I try to close the ring and it gets very twisty. If that makes sense.
@11Frivole3 жыл бұрын
Hello, I don't usually find Lizbeth to be twisty but I've had this happen with me with some other threads. If you've not twisted it whilst winding it on the bobbin, it's difficult to prevent it from being so. I've found some threads to be just too unpleasantly twisty and have given up on them (I remember in particular a ball of fine Venus thread which I ended up throwing away!). Otherwise, you can stop regularly as you tat, let your shuttle dangle and untwist itself before carrying on.

@@11Frivole I just get nervous rolling the shuttles you make, I’m ocd and I feel like I’m going to ruin them 😭 but when I do it’s still twisty. I can’t stand twisty thread. Do you have any other tips for Lizbeth though? Maybe I’m just doing something wrong.

Is that just a regular mock ring? I find it fun closing the scmr
@11Frivole3 жыл бұрын
Hello, yes, I guess it's a regular mock ring! I must admit I've never used regular mock rings and have always done mine as SCMRs so I just wanted to show an alternate way of achieving the same result.
@MovieGuckerin3 жыл бұрын
Why did you use self closing Mock ring on this design? Is it to not flip the work and tat from the front side?
@11Frivole3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's right. Using a SCMR lets you work everything from the front side and also means you can work from the ball (avoiding refills) and not need another shuttle. :-)
