Great stuff. Looking for new content creators to follow in 2022 - you're on top of my list! The tip on directing non-professional actors is hugely helpful. I just did a 4 day shoot with 'talent' provided by the client. It went fine, but props for them to engage with was the key. Keep up the great work.

What do you use to help stabilize your videos? Is your movement just that smooth in camera? I noticed even the handheld videos with foreground elements were buttery smooth, and typically stabilizers don't function well with heavy foreground. Great video!

Great video :) However I just want to point out that changing the focal length of your lens does NOT affect your perspective. Perspective only changes when your shooting distance changes, so zooming in post has the same effect as zooming on the lens when it comes to perspective
@jacques_crafford
@jacques_crafford 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Will. I think it might just be the use of the word "perspective" really what I'm referring to is compression, there's a massive changes from 24-50mm+ something you can't get in post.
@willchao1733
@willchao1733 2 жыл бұрын
@@jacques_crafford yeah compression is the same thing, you can do a test by taking two photos in the same spot of the same subject, one at 50mm and the other at 24mm but cropped to 50mm, you’ll find the end result to have the exact same perspective/compression :)
@flipnap2112
@flipnap2112 11 ай бұрын
a zoomed pic and cropped will be different. longer lenses compress the image and change the perspective. people can get confused I know, but its true. a picture of a human face at 20mm looks much ,much different than one shot on a 100
@willchao1733
@willchao1733 11 ай бұрын
@@flipnap2112 wrong. Try taking a picture with 20mm and 100mm of a human face from the same spot and crop the 20mm to the same frame as 100mm, you'll notice they look exactly the same Compression is the result of shooting distance, NOT the lens, it's a common mistake

For me, you are the best video production content creator on youtube. And, trust me I've gone through a lot of them. Love your calm and informative ambience.

Good video. Very helpful. Not like other videos I’ve seen promoting cool camera shots and then coming across as cheesy. You give it a more professional look. You have a good eye, but also you breakdown the shot and where the subject needs to be. Thank you for that. Personally, I think the Bicycle Reveal at 2:34 would have been better as drone footage where you do everything as you suggested, but you pull out while getting the subject and view in the city in the same shot. However, I understand these are shots only with a camera and gimbal. Maybe something to consider in another video using this type of shot with drone work?
