If they still can"t figure out the diag. then they should send it to a " Master Tech " like you who has the knowledge and ability to use other, more expensive scan tools to help you access the info you need !

I also think it is funny that you laughed at me when you introduced the "Chevy" after my comment on there not being one for several videos. At least I'm assuming you were laughin at me, which may or may not be true. I like to think it is. Id feel pretty confident saying that in the area that we live in upstate NY, 50% of cars with inspection stickers driving around would not actually pass a proper safety inspection. Maybe it's much higher than that is likely. I see so many shops that if the NYS computer says it passes and all the lights work the stickers get slapped on. Kudos to you for doing your part to try to keep some of the unsafe cars off the road.

Eric, you might consider trying 63/37 solder. It does not have a pasty phase as it solidifies like 60/40 solder does. It goes directly from liquid to solid when it freezes. 63/37 is a eutectic solder.

One way Mr O could supercharge his channel is to have guest videos with other people who's work he respects.... provided they have a channel also. There are other content creators with Millions of subs. Just seeing them together would lead to some crossover for each creator. And another way is to showcase some repairs of exciting cars.... sports cars. And maybe a mod here and there.... but... realize this is his business, day to day.... you get who you get.

@Ungood-jl5ep it wasn't maintained right then. If they are maintained properly, they are fantastic cars. Change the oil every 3k miles, replace the valve cover with OEM around every 100k miles, make sure the check valve in the intake is still there or install a cruzekits PCV fix kit. My 13 LTZ RS has 222k miles, my 12 Eco has 185k miles. Both are flawless. And my 13 wasn't super well maintained before I got it, but it's given me zero issues in the 22k miles I've put on it in the last year.

@David-bb3mp that's what everyone says...but those people don't know how to work on cars or don't know how to properly maintain a car. I've been doing this for 16 years. Worked on thousands of cars including lots of Cruze and Sonic and Encore and Trax that share the 1.4t. they are great engines as long as you know how to maintain a vehicle. Change the oil every 3k miles. That's literally all I've done on mine and it's been flawless with 222k miles. And I've owned and sold over 200 cars. They're great and get great mileage.
@Ungood-jl5ep

@@thagerdorn2009 False. I changed the oil and filter every 3000 miles with mobil one dexos full synthetic. I did replace the valve cover twice before 100,000 miles (once under warranty at around 45,000 miles) because the built in PCV valve failed. I also had the water pump replaced twice before 100,000 miles under the special condition recall/warranty on the water pumps which were covered for 10 years 150,000 miles. I traded it in after the second time the water pump failed.

Lol, it's got the BIG 1.8 Very good electrical troubleshooting skills. Correct me if I'm wrong but the majority of the 12 vdc voltage will get dropped across the purge valve coil because Kirchhoff’s loop rule states that the algebraic sum of potential differences, including voltage supplied by the voltage sources and resistive elements, in any loop must be equal to zero. As you're hitting increase on the scanner it should actually be decreasing the resistance inside the computer so more battery voltage is available at and dropped across the test light causing it to illuminate!
