Glad I wasn't the only one who thought Gabe's death in the comic was random. It was so random that I thought it was just a red shirt who died and not Gabriel. It took me several months to figure out that it was in fact Gabriel only because it said he was dead on a walking dead website.

Me too. I remember reading that moment of his death had a, “wait what?” Moment. Not long before he was learning to shoot. So I thought he was going to use it in some way. It was definitely one of the deaths in the comic I did not agree with.

Someone did kinda get Gabriel's death in the show. It was a unnamed extra during the Savior War.

Talking about limiting Rick's abilities by potentially breaking his leg, I thought that cutting off his arm like the Governor did could potentially be limiting, but if Aaron is any indication, it's definitely possible to make it work.

The thing is though, Robert Kirkman regretted Rick losing his hand, as it made writing more difficult, as well as making it more challenging for Charlie Adlard to draw certain scenes. Another reason is that they didn't want to CGI out his hand each episode, as it'd be too expensive, but I guess they could've gave him his prosthetic early

I would have like to have seen a real negan vs beta fight in the show even if JDM is too small to hold beta off. It would have made 10x16 more satisfying in my opinion.

In season 10 episode 2, gammas sister was griving over her child, although when she took off her mask she looked very young, way to young to be having a kid, and we never saw a father, and she seemed to be very inocent for a whisperer, my guess is she was probibly raped and then having that baby, but they couldnt say it straight up

The thing about the 10 man pike(Tv) scene that I found personally funny is that the moment that another Lesbian couple were introduced Tara dies immediately after, It was like they were planning to kill Tara much earlier in the show but realized they would have 0 lesbians and would likely face backlash so they put her death on hold until Magna and Yumiko were revealed to be lesbians. Also that whole pike scene wiped out a lot of characters that I considered mid which never really made me feel that sad In fact I felt kind of the opposite for there deaths with the only exception being Henry as they literally pulled a Carl on his ass and they could've done something well with him

I do feel like the whisper arc was lack lustered in the show where i was like not many big deaths happen. Where the comics the whispers were better the only thing i did like with the change was beta from th comics as a athlete or commercial sport person with he show being a country singer that went mentally insane.

Gotta be honest, I pretty much forgot about half of this stuff but I can see why they left out or adapted most of it differently. I wouldn't have minded the weird ass eye lick, though. I totally ended up loving the ever living shit out of The Boys and actually thought about TWD a lot when watching, mentally comparing their various takes on adaptation. The structure of TWD comics is more straight forward allowing the show to more or less cover the comics major beat by major beat. The central conflict of The Boys is on the backburner until a good ways through the run, whereas it's front and center on the show, but built up consistently through, sprinkling in some of the side stuff that is less crucial to the main plot. I have to give both shows credit for keeping the spirit of the source material alive when they have more divergent adaptations of the source.

I will have to read the Boys comics at some point, I hear the characters are a lot less developed in it than the TV show though. I agree with you on the structure of TWD, making this video made me realise how closely the show followed the comics after the prison arc, whereas there was a lot of comic events left out of the show in the first 4 and half seasons.

@@HeyJoshyJosh it's definitely worth a read because, well, it's just... Different than the show. Many characters are better developed on the show, the supes in particular, but you get some more developed back stories for The Boys and they are basically supes themselves.

Okay I do take issue with this video. I have been catching up with the comics these past few weeks, as I have never read them. Basically going in blind. I came across your videos and decided to quickly cath up to 144 to see what you had to say. Andrea dies? Hasn't happened by issue 144. Thanks. I'll be honest, I'm VERY late to the party and should expect spoilers everywhere, but you specifically said at the start that you'd cover issues 49-144. Kinda mad to be honest. I feel like I'm in the minority who feels like the finale itself wasn't actually that bad, it was just the way we got there. The last two seasons were pretty terribly executed, and the finale was deeply flawed, don't get me wrong, but I feel like all the major story beats were actually pretty good. It's no breaking bad finale, don't get me wrong, but it's not as bad as dexter, the sopranos, sons of anarchy, etc
