When handling unruly horses: wear leather gloves. Hold the lead below the clasp so if he rips the lead through your hand you don’t get your hand ripped. Use a cotton lead. Avoid poly leads. They heat up, burn your palm, fuse and get stiff. Hold the horse on the same side as the vet or farrier. When they switch sides, you switch sides. That way you give the horse a side to spook to unimpeded by someone standing there, while they are spooking away from the person working on them.

We deal with horrible animal auctions and abandoned because of living near to Amish county here in Ohio. The stories I hear from dog rescue groups is utterly heartbreaking I know horses and other animals aren’t doing any better.😢😢 God bless you all.

Poor Aria just starved because she couldn’t work. Seeing her hip bones made me cry. She looks so sweet as she watched everyone go in she was so curious what the humans were doing. She needs so much love..wish I was closer😢❤❤❤❤

I love that Paulie does things the right way, he really loves the horses, i love his personaluty and sense of humor.i love this channel the most, its the best one out of all the rescues..you all work relaxed as a TEAM, even the " bosses" dont act like bosses, they work as hard as the workers, and its a relaxed enviorment. ( unlike other channels, the workerd dont seem relaxed, and you know who the "boss" is..smh. (my boss is so chill at my job, lol , and the team is relaxed and joking and happy. Were kinda equals she works up along side of us lol.when her boss shows up..its tense, serious..she can " joke" we cant. She wont do dirty jobs, ..and she lets it be known shes the boss.smh. ) your channel is so real. Lol it shows EVERYONE getting kickrd or bit, the vet getting slobberd on , someone almost getting bucked off. all the ' crew members pretty much stay the same.it isnt oh this week almost a whole new staff and vet? Okkaayy?? ( its comforting and relaxing when ive had a " bad sad " day , to watch my fave horse channel, get a good laugh because a horse being onery or goofy. I love the humor amongst the staff, the things they say to the horses..AND the staff are the same people . , same Paulie, same dr Kristen, .) I also have 2 goat channels i love..lol.thanks for being such an awesome channel..( i work in senior care.this month..smh alot of " bad sad"days.thank you

I love how Dr. Kristen takes her time with each of the horses. It’s so sad that once they come to you they’ve lost so much trust in humans. Pauly has the patience of Job!! He’s amazing with teaching the youngsters that they can’t get away with bad manners. No wonder the 4 month old didn’t want his back feet messed with. Poor little guy. I’m excited to see what he does with the mare he really took a liking to. 💛 Pauly, do you ride bulls in your spare time. Haha

Sad to see the conditions these amazing animals are in and knowing much is due to neglect. If you don't want to treat them well or you just can't do it than please give them to someone who can and will treat them with the love care and respect each one needs and deserves. Pauly and Dr Kristen are both amazing at what they do and have patience, compassion,knowledge, and love needed for their jobs. As for the staff each and everyone is amazing in their own right but they all work as a team but each one has an amazing personality and such a love for the animals and what they do. When. You love what you do it makes a huge difference and it really shows. I have complete respect and I'm in awe of each and everyone of you. And I thank you for doing it. I just found your channel and so happy I did. I have Ben obsessed since vid 1 and have been binge watching. Love them all and have really learned so much. When I hear them mention some thing that I don't know about a look it up so I can learn about it. Thank you for bringing the attention to your cause ,your work and these majestic animals that need you so much. You are all a true Blessing and bring hope to so many animals.

The 12yr old paint about 40 minutes in, the pattern looks just like spray from birdshot from that angle. Horse Plus had one that showed the shot in x-rays. I really hope it is just a rash. You all do a great job and have so much patience, and compassion!❤

Have you ever tried singing to difficult horses when trying to shoe them ? I grew up raising and trying English jumpers and even with our dogs. When singing to them, it helps soothe them and calm them down. It doesn't matter if you can sing or what song it is, even better if you're off key, lol, it does work.
