What Metaxas said about Christian defeatism and everything McCoy said was nothing short of perfect! It was great to see Robinson too! His now famous debate at the Oxford Union standing up for the eternal law and gospel on homosexuality in the face of great adversity was truly an inspiration to behold! Incidentally, it was a notable quote of Christian martyr, Bonhoeffer, that prompted me to re-evaluate my position on voting as I once held to the unscriptural notion that it was a sin and forbidden for Christians. However, after witnessing the unlawful and immoral actions of those in positions of power all over the Western world especially these last several years my understanding started to shift. Now I regard voting similar to guns or planes or anything else in this world that can be used for good or evil, but are, in and of themselves, neutral until a person or group of people make the conscious choice to use such for either a moral or immoral purpose. Hence, I believe a Christian can, and should, use his vote for good, if he chooses to vote, to enable good and moral people are in authority who will encourage good and moral laws are enacted for the good of all God’s people (Pr. 29:2). We shouldn’t allow our votes to go wasted on those intent on destroying our Christian way of life for "...to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not...it is sin" (Jas 4:17) and like Bonhoeffer put it: "Silence in the face of evil is evil itself. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act."
