Uhm... They can probably pick that car right up and walk off with it! 😂😂😂 And no, i'm NOT kidding about that. They're light AF. And ... it's the car itself that costs $17,000 and up. The battery is $75-$200, so it's more profitable to just take the car. And... Has anyone ever thought of what would happen to you if someone had BAD intentions towards you? You know, like an abusive husband or boyfriend, car-jacker, rapist, violent protesters, etc. They could take a crowbar & beat their way into that car in seconds, roll your butt over in it, shove you off a cliff... etc. Need i say more?

And for those who say "No way you can pick these up"... Just remember how many instances of people picking cars up off of someone who's trapped underneath a FULL-SIZE vehicle, happens. It's easier than you think. A car is designed in such a way that you end up using your leg muscles to pick up a car, which are where all your strength is located. Legs are MUCH stronger than arms. Think about it. These teeeny things would be a breeze to lift up, and roll over. Kinda makes me want to find one and check it out... Which is actually a BAD thing, cause i wont be the only one thinking that way... I'm just sayin... A few beers. A few jokes about it... A few silly comments... And the next thing ya know, everyone's pouring out of the building just to "check it out"... 😂🤦♀

I drove on a Fiat before. If a car has got only less than 100 miles range, you should not even bother to buy it. At least 200 mile rage is practical in the US. A lot of people don't know, that the claimed milage like 100 for example, can be drastically reduced if you floor the gas pedal, drive in cold weather, or use air-cond or heater.
@PDVism Жыл бұрын
These cars are meant for city use not for a commute from a suburb in the USA. E.G.: In my country if I drive 100miles north of where I live I end up in another country. If I drive 100miles to the south I'm in a different other country. The world doesn't revolve the USA. In most countries having 100miles is more than plenty to get around town.
@taotao98103 Жыл бұрын
@@PDVism Did I say the world revolves around the US? The world does not revolve around you either, who are you to tell me what to say? I just said for a person living in the US, the 100-mile range is not enough. Why did that provoke you? Obviously, you are not an electric car driver. You think 100 miles means 100 miles? During winter time the mileage can get much lower because the battery does not perform as good in the wintertime. 100 miles can become 70 very quickly. If you step on the gas padel harder, the electric car does have good power, but at the expense of suffering mileage. 70 becomes 60. Then if you have to turn on the heater, radio, GPS, and Satellite radio, then 60 becomes 40.
@PDVism Жыл бұрын
@@taotao98103 Sure, there are lots of factors that will diminish the actual range. In your first post you mentioned range 3 times. Point remains. Not everything revolves around the USA. There are more places that have well thought out infrastructure than the inefficient mess that is pretty much standard in the US. Most countries create cities and towns where people live, work, shop without having to drive for hours to commute to work or having to drive to a mall. There for bringing up that a range of 100miles is not practical is clearly focused on your particular circumstances and demonstrates that all you think of is 'you'. Here's a fun fact: not everything is meant for the USA or for you. Care to face the fact that you were 'triggered' when it's pointed out that your circumstances aren't the norm? Besides, there are places in the US where a 100miles would be more than sufficient namely when living in major cities so your point is moot. These cars are clearly meant to mostly zip around cities. The problem I see with them is that most cities around the world in 1st and 2nd world countries where the range would be more than acceptable have a pretty decent public transport system AND the only two reasons to take a car is either to not be dependent on public transport or to have a means to haul stuff, E.G..: shopping. These cars in general don't seem to have much trunk space. Thus, why take one of these glorified golf carts when the amount of shopping it can haul is the equivalent of a couple of shopping bags that you can carry on a bus or the amount of shopping one can carry in a set of bicycles bags. Answer seems to be 'convenience' and there for it's mostly a 'luxury' product. In other words, the only real reason to use one that I can see is to go from point A to point B like you would with a bike or public transport while having more luxury than on a (motor)bike and more privacy than on a bus/metro/tram. In short, the amount of market share for these cars I guess is very limited. Think about it. If one can't afford a normal car one still has to be rich enough to be able to afford one of these but not so poor that it still would make financial sense to do.

Love the last idea, especially with renting / ridesharing. It would be wonderful if an automated system worked, but it just doesn't. Remember the Amazon drone delivery idea? Ditto on automatic cars you don't have to drive. Great concept in a perfect world, but the thing is technology and electronic automation is going to go wrong or have bugs, wear out, short out, etc. When that does, the results are too disastrous to make it viable. Concept ideas always show things envisioned in a perfect utopia. But real life is just not like that.

This version is meant for those with disabilities to drive exclusively on the footpath/sidewalk/pavement. Never on the road (except to cross it)

All these are great. Unfortunately I live in Victoria which is a state in Australia. Here, all vehicles must comply with ANSCAP standards the same as a full size motor car. @markdunstone2922 Жыл бұрын
I think you’ll find the real reason is that the old big car companies are the major players in standards setting in Australia. Same goes for batteries in houses for off-grid power (large electrical suppliers dominate standards); food standards, etc etc. Not so much the ‘nanny state’, but corrupt gov that gives industry more say than consumers. But I agree with you. I want a 2 seater 200-300kg electric car for town use (food shopping etc) and keep the ICE car for country trips.
