Can we just talk about how Red XIII + Titan for defense + Vitality Up/HP Up materias is tooo broken. Taken damage, Vengeance mode, attack away with style, Stardust Ray and keep attacking to get 1 more ATP, then drop a Crescent Claw IF the enemy is even still alive. This way damage doesnt effect you as much, but you can activate vengeance mode easily. Its sooo broken.

Giving us an ap up materia early game is a huge W. Grinding materia isn't THAT bad but I like being able to level my hp and mp up materias as quickly as possible.

8:35 note about HP Materia Earings….. they come as if they were fully maxed out 30% extra HP which is great because you get it so early… your other HP Up Materia would be lucky to be 15% (1 rank up) at this point. You can tell it’s fully maxed up obviously with the math, as your character gains about 30% HP. But also because if you try and add an additional HP Up Materia your character will gain no further health. That is because the Materia stack, but only up to the max of 30% HP (equivalent to 1 maxed rank HP Up Materia). Haven’t taken these off my Cloud since I got it!

I do a Fire and Ice Materia linked to an Elemental Materia on Cloud's sword, a lot of enemies have a weakness to fire or ice.

Auto-Cast + Healing is the combo I use on the accessory piece of every character, including cloud.

Most importantly: level your prayer materia because it's a group heal that doesn't cost MP

If it's anything like the first game then prayer is going to be a life saver in hard mode! A party heal ability that doesn't cost any mana.

@@colonelradec5956 i actually think they're both a little weaker than their Remake counterparts. That being said, both still have their places in Hard Mode. The ability to heal and purge poison without spending MP is definitely big.

You want to do perfect parry/ block with Cloud on any difficulty setting other than hard mode is play on Classic mode and equip Auto Unique (AU) materia on Cloud. I put the other AU materia on Tifa.

With a note on fire+ice, and lightning+wind, linking that with elemental materia on your weapon . Or level up materia is also good with it. Problem with auto unique on tifa is she will spend atb bars when you might want that atb for pushing weaknesses or heals. You can somewhat offset tifas atb use by giving her first strike and concentration. If you want plasma discharge on cloud, it works very well with the weapon abikity you get from runeblade which charges a decent portion of atb. You'll be a ball of lightning

Personally, I like Pray. It heals your entire party, doesn’t use MP, and was a godsend in FF7: Remake. Even not maxed out, it’s a godsend again for me in Rebirth. But I’m still maxing out multiple Chakra materias because they are extremely helpful as well.

@@What.99 Its cool, the thing i dont like about pray is those two ATB bars, its too much; i prefer those two bars in something like a powerfull summon, or attacks like autolife that phoenix summon uses cure materia+ magnify regen party, or use ether to mp and stuff like that

Thing is about the multi magic like fire ice. They take way more ap to level. I had all my elemental and healings maxed by junon 🤣 woulda taken the whole game if i used ice fire wind thunder combined.

The mines count as grasslands so just progress the story and scan all bosses etc

the fire and ice materia is a trap. It levels SO much slower. You need as much AP to get it to rank 2 as a regular materia needs to be Maxed out entirely. Sure you get a little extra flexibility in element choices but your folio should already be covering your bases. A much better use for the combo Materia is linking it with something. On it's own, pass until much later in the game.

That's true, but I have it linked to the materia level up support materia, so you automatically get the next tier of spells. By the time it finally levels, you'll probably have the third tier about when you'd need them. I think. Only in Junon.
