I am working on shifting my thinking and strengthening my will power. I married my middle school love and best friend and we have remained that for all these years. We are going through something that seems bigger than ourselves and that scares me. But I am learning to love him unconditionally and to see all the good in my marriage despite all the downs we are facing. Some days is harder but I will continue to strive. ♥️ thank you for all the advice!

Hi Paul I just want to say that this video was so vital at saving my marriage. I applied your principles and 1year and a half later my marriage is better than ever! Even after infidelity on my husbands part. I thank God for your wisdom and that doesn’t mean I agreed with everything but most of it like 95 % of your lessons. I don’t have to spell those things out on this platform because it’s irrelevant. It’s a personal conviction from the Lord and I stand firm in my faith principles from the Bible. Which I believe you have derived from the Bible most of your principles which literally does save marriages. Thanks for all you have done and are still doing. I often go back and re watch a lot of videos as a refresher when I feel like I’m going backwards or have a set back. I’m truly happy now and so is my husband and we are thriving. And you taught me how to love unconditionally like God loves. 🙏🏻😇God Bless you Paul and your ministry ❤

I feel every point, thank you for this video. I love my husband unconditionally. However we are apart now for 3 months and he has said it is over. No cheating, no fighting, no major issue - he wants to work on himself. There is literally nothing I can do, and I'd do anything for him. If the mind set of the person is, 'I'm done' how is there hope.

I'm not sure I agree with all of this, but I will say sometimes on other channels they basically tell you not to tolerate ANYTHING. Sometimes it's ridiculous, like jeez, you're never gonna stay in a relationship because you're never gonna find a PERFECT person. It's about learning about each other and LOVE . If you love each other, it's worth at least trying some of these ideas.

It's the western American influence. Sex, showing your body and superficial selfishness is being promoted by all that media content. It starts with "innocent" high school movies aka springbreak high schools blondes having the "fun" of their life with some "cool" surfer boys and ends by promoting sex and independence as the non plus ultra. The fruits are horrific and destroying western and other cultures. 50% of now woman under 30 will remain childless in the next two decades in the USA or Europe. But also in eastern China. A same amount of men will be living alone. Nowadays it's normal to have a bodycount of 10 people plus. That's mind destroying and encouraging very bad psychological processes in the brain that leads to losing the ability of living happily together, exclusive with another human being.

@@TheMarriageFoundation how ironic. I'm dealing with this again in my marriage...sometimes it feels like it will never get better but we are just growing further apart. I get this notification from my Bible app for the verse of the day... its Collosians 3:13: Forbearance one another and forgiving one another if any man have a quarrel against any:even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Then I looked at my notification and I see I told someone that comment awhile ago. God is speaking to me....we need to forgive out of obedience and gratitude cause we have been forgiveness so great a debt of sin.

How do you not confront your husband when all of a sudden at 50 years old he starts chain-smoking?? He doesn't want to stop. He doesn't think he has any responsibility for my feelings. He has no responsibility as a spouse to uphold his health. I take care of mine! It's absolutely despicable when a spouse decides to go down a road of self-destruction and just ignores the wife who will have to pick up the pieces when he gets sick!
@TheMarriageFoundation

None of your let's call them complaints are based in love for him, only self-protection. This means that you run your marriage from your point of view, as most do, which means you don't practice the art of unconditional love. Try to understand that your marriage can be much more fulfilling for both of you if you shift your thinking.

You are talking about 2 souls as soulmates. But what if you are not your husband's soulmate? My husband has an emotional connection with a co-worker and he said that he probably has "fallen in love" with her and has never felt like that with anyone else before. He said he wasn't unfaithful and there is no physical connection. I feel like there is no coming back after this now. I have bought your book and still trying to make out what I needed to do to make my husband fall in love with me again.
@TheMarriageFoundation
@TheMarriageFoundation Жыл бұрын
As I am sure you are receptive so the book will help you realize what you did not do in your marriage so that he sought elsewhere and you are already modifying your "ways". But, unfortuntely for most, by the time a husband has begun to leave, as has your husband, the solution is to learn to master your mind and at the same time learn to open your heart. That is a process and the very reason for us creating the course for women which systemitizes your efforts and is supported by our very special counselors. Read this themarriagefoundation.org/about/our-approach/ which will help you decide if you need the course. I think it would work for you and you would get your husband back.

This is a question many of our students ask so I am glad to address it. The ones who take the course, and of course apply what they are guided to do, find themselves changing in ways they never imagines, becoming more calm and peaceful, more inwardly happy, and notice that sometimes for the first time in their lives they are happy no matter what is happening all around them, in the marriage and in the world. They change in ways that makes them more appealing, more loving, and so those who know them are more attracted to them, including their spouse...especiually their spouse. If you are asking this question is shows me that you have not done the course or are just starting, and maybe holding back. If you have begun then give it all you have to give. Nothing is dangerous or puts you at risk,. It is all guidencce to how one should be, anyway. Blessings.

I am not sure if i should leave not sure how the next wife turns up to be .. what is the way forward for me? or is this too much to ask? and give up the idea .. (as my wife says you cant have everything in life)

a deep subject, and one that should be thoroughly discussed before marriage... but, after, there are too many variables to cover the topic in a truely useful way

I have been in 2 marriages, neither one was "well run". My daughter told me I have horrible taste in men. She was correct. I am a shell of the person I used to be.

Great talk! Thanks much! I have a request- I feel that 2years of Covid and people working from home 24*7 is causing a lot of stress in marriages. I know of 3 divorces in my circle and all are traceable to ‘familiarity breeds contempt’ in an indirect way. Wish some social scientists study that aspect as well.

If not COVID there will be something else. We must learn the "rules" of marriage and how to gain the greatest benefits of learning to love unconditionally. 🙏

I have listened to the first few signs and have a question right away. Are you saying that in every situation in the marriage up to and including adultery, a man shall correct his behavior to make his wife like him more? Would that cause a wife to despise a husband for not having a self respect?

Not including adultery on her part, no.

I've been married 30 years,,but 4 days ago my husband got mad at me about something ,,and has refused to speak to me since, he won't call or text or even stay in the same room with me. He's come and go to work and that's it. I know why he is mad. I don't feel it was something I owe an apology for,, so what do I do? I can't get him to communicate or talk about it. Should I just apologize and say I was wrong anyway? Just to get past this? He's done this 4x I can think of in 30 years. He is really really mad.

What I learned from my Chaplaincy training days is that apologies are not necessarily about admitting fault but rather about restoring the relationship. Who’s right or wrong doesn't always matter because the main objective is to heal the rift in the relationship. I began applying this “technique” towards my husband with mostly fantastic outcomes. Since doing so, I've noticed that my husband’s heart softened & he's holding less grudges.

It is better, much better, to not focus on one thing but instead focus on learning to love unconditionally as you learn to open your heart and control your mind. Then you will reap the long awaited rewards of marriage

I can agree with this, but in some ways is hurtful to listen. I wasn't in marriage but in relationship in a promising way. Some therapist basically destroyed it by my hands. Being with her was only period in my life when I was feeling peace.

Therapists mean well but they are so ill-trained in marriage and end up doing so much harm. We are training many but it will be many years before we make a true impact

You have to change (!!!!). Your mistake is: "You were feeling peace while being with her". That is a big red flag!!! No second person can ever give you real truth peace, if you are not at peace by yourself (alone) You have some deeper emotional problems, probably rooted in your childhood and emotional relation with your parents (probably one or both were narcissistic and they made you not feeling enough or at peace with yourself by yourself alone)
