I seen for the last month a lot of videos about gout and all of them have conflicting content compared to the others, is one of the diseases that i can't find a constant on what to do, drink or eat, except drinking a lot of water, lemons, and that's it. One says apples are good for it, one says are bad for it, one says tomatoes, the other the contrary, one saids meat is not the problem, one that it is the primary problem, eat tuna, don't eat tuna, eat spinachs, don't eat spinachs, intermittent fasting is good, some is bad, put hest on it, put cold on it, I read the comments and what works for a person it doesn't work for another one. I'm starting to believe that this disease is very different for each person, and people reacts in very different ways to the protocols doctors and other specialists try to make. That's why is so hard to fight it sometimes because what works for someone it doesn't mean it will work for another. It's frustrating and painful.

Seems everyone has different triggers. I can’t drink beer but as much vodka as I want. Vodka seems to actually help in a flare up for me. I can eat all the red meat I want but no “cheap meats”. Processed hot dogs. Sausage. Meatballs or deli meat I can’t eat. I actually can tell when an attack is imminent by the vane in my foot will bulge out and I know I got a day to get it under control. I take the supplement go-out. It’s a capsule of celery seed and cherry extract

Hi 👋 I have gout and so does my dad. Eating a lot of fresh cherries and drinking plenty of water every day has worked for us! I have a diet of chicken, green vegetables, berries & cherries basically. Every body is different, so there’s not one thing that works for everyone. I’ve noticed if I cheat on my new gout diet, I almost immediately have a flare up. Red meat and so many other things can trigger it. The pharmaceutical medications for gout are downright scary as hell & I’m going to do whatever I can to avoid taking them! 🤷🏼♀️ I wish there was a cure for gout and so many other diseases!

plain water will not help. I've tried. I've gone to adding 1 fresh squeezed lime in 1.5 L of water which has been helping along with vitamin d3 5000 IU a day and magnesium citrate taken at night

I have been triggered by apples due the fructose content. I have also been triggered by coffee. Same goes for green tea. Used to love Japanese green tea..had to cut back. Oats can also trigger gout, and has for me. Tomatoes are a trigger for me.so anything with tomato or even pasta sauce tomato base in an avoid.

@@Therealmpj I've been triggered by chinese fuji apples, gala apples and honey crisp apples. My former favorite was the chinese fuji apples..no more tho. I've eliminated apples from my eating rotation along with pears, peaches, plums, kiwis (oxalates), strawberries, mangoes (oxalates), cantaloupes, honey dew. I normally eat papaya, not fully ripe, green bananas, saba banana from frozen, pomelo (seasonal around the colder months) least in the asian stores near me.

I stop eating tomatoes, broccoli and beans because my joints will be swollen after few hours. In this video you recommend these 3 to lower uric acid. This is my problem now, my uric acid is high resulting my Creatinen reached 421. My doctor advice me to eat those fruits and vegetables can help to eliminate uric acid back to normal and my Creatinen too. Thanks for the video.❤

not all beans are the same. Chickpea and black beans are much lower in purines than others. Broccoli depends on your cooking method, don't roast it, steam or boil. I've gotten my uric acid managed with 5000 IU of vit d3, magnesium citrate taken at night 150mg and 1 fresh squeezed lime in 1.5 L water a day.

sadly some of the recommendations aren't good for those with gout. Coffee, green tea, oats, tomatoes, apples (or any fruits with fructose that is high) for Pinoy that likely means mangoes, since mangoes have oxalates which will make a gout flare up more painful.

some of what was recommended are not good for gout. Tomatoes, coffee, green tea, apples, oats should all be avoided. Myself I have been triggered by all of those. Also, no dinuguan papaitan, kaldereta, pakbet, menudo, afritada, mechado, lechon, lechon kawali, talong, okra some squash types, kamote, cauliflower, spinach, kang kong, lamang loob

Their 200 gram/daily recommendation for cherries would be approximately 30 cherries per day. That's crazy...especially when the cherries aren't in season.

My medication of COLCHCIINE has just arrived and I did research before it came and it seemed OK , but now I have read the leaflet that it came with, I feel this sense of fear as its mentioning that it is strong/livers/kidneys/bloods.... So now I am in two minds to take it. I am on XARELTO as I had a blood clot/DVT in 2013 due to an Achilles tendon rupture. The DR prescribed me COLCHICINE last week. However, within the week I have been doing researching on what I can do 'at home cure'. ... So far I have been eating oranges and recently been having lemon water and continually fuelling up on bottles of water.... Within the last 2 days , the throbbing, red hot sensation I was feeling on my right foot has now subsided and I can feel that I can walk AT LEAST better than what I could have done 5 days ago... However, I am still in two minds to pop the first '2 pills of colchcine' as directed in the leaflet and then 1 an hour later just to speed up the process......?

Tomatoes are low purine foods. However, research says that it may increase serum urate in some people and not in everyone. Tomatoes actually reduce inflammation and gout symptoms in some people. To be on the safe side doctors suggest not to consume it at all. Avoid it only if it triggers your gout symptoms.
