I just use primers, I think the powder needs to be in a breech for it to build up enough pressure to explode, in this case it seems to act more as a suppressor, I'd be interested to see a comparison between a full (blank) shell and an empty one with just the primer detonating. Good build, looks very pro!

Came out well, the zip tie grooves make it look kind of tactical! I know having something like that in the mountains where I'm from would be handy for camping as the black bears are into everything if they can.

Thanks Everett. I’ve had enough encounters in the woods where this would’ve been handy. Strangers coming too close, moose, other animals, your mother in law raiding your fridge at midnight...

If you get a 12 gauge chamber reducer you can fire live pistol ammo out of it. The reducer fits just like a shell does but is chambered for a pistol. You can build a frame to mount it to. Works as a great back up shtf device.

Well done Yuchol. That should last about a hundred years. I even liked the music in the video which is very unusual for me. I made a similar item one time but for using loaded ammo. It was actually harmless and I showed that in my video "Certain death or not". youtube hated it and demonetized it until people had already seen it.

Curious to know when you tested if that hairpin clip offered to much friction? Might be that a straight pin would be more effective to that leg brush that will activate it without giving the intruder time to feel the wire and step over it? You probably did it off camera but I would have chamfered the striking surface of the firing pin to keep it from acting as a punch and penetrating rather than dimpling the primer which results in gas blowback (probably not so much with no projectile going out but still not a good thing)
@woodscreekworkshop99394 жыл бұрын
I think a straight pin would be smoother for sure. I chamfered the firing pin tip, but it only dimples the primer, no penetration.

I was thinking, you could probably make some that use .22 blanks instead of shot shell blanks. .22 blanks are easier to come by, they sell them at most hardware stores and they come in different power levels. Since all you're looking for is a loud pop the .22 blanks will fit the bill and do it possibly cheaper.

I think the firing pin may fail , if you had a radius at the base of the pin it would increase strength many times. Not picking just what I see could be better . most firing pins are tapered to help slow breakage .
