Back in the 90s, L'Oréal made eyeshadows that were applied with an included blush brush. Those were fabulous; while they had a slight shimmer, they performed well in the crease because they were slightly sheer. I found out about them in Glamour magazine, in an article titled "5 Minute Makeup: if it takes six minutes, it's too long!" LOL, those were the days... I love that lip color, Emily!

I started my first post college job during covid. I have been working for almost a year and a half with people I have never met in person. Instead of using powder to clean up the contour I think using your foundation brush with the remaining product would've worked better. But that's just what I've found to work best for me.

Of course you'd turn me on to a fast, minimal makeup look just the day after I found a couple of great eyeshadow palettes at Marshall's for cheap! the kind of stuff I want to take lots of time playing with: Catrice Basic BAE, and a 4 pan neutral shimmer set from The Creme Shop. So now I'm off to Target for the CoverGirl stick eyeshadow; hope they have a nice dove gray shimmer or a Mauvey shimmer. And you've finally convinced me to try one of the Maybelline lip crayons; I was worried about it being too matte and drying, but heck, that's what my clear gloss sticks are for! Your videos are always so good! And I hope your Dad is excited about a lasting recovery! Thanks for your presence!

What a great look in not a lot of time! I have a similar go-to when I only have 5 minutes: Laura Geller baked balance and brighten foundation, Revlon colorstay creme eyeshadow, L'oreal lash paradise, Maybelline lifter gloss in Amber, and whatever is the closest blush I can grab!

Em you really should get back on the Grande Lash! I am SO happy with my results. I'm at about 2 months now. They're SO long, SO thick and best if all they're curled on their own! I had the same exact issue as you, my lashes were so straight they actually pointed down! Now I don't even need a lash curler anymore! It's amazing. I've had people ask if I'm wearing false lashes! I always wanted nice lashes because mine were so short, stubby and super straight. I really think you should try it out again! You really don't need to apply much. I use my little handheld fan and dry then after I apply. But after like 5-6 weeks I already noticed a huge difference. And I have forgotten so many nights that I'm honestly surprised I have had such amazing results!

I’m legally blind and my makeup always takes me 30 minutes to do. I line up all my eye shadow brushes, eye liner, and mascara that I’m going to use in one side, and all of my face brushes that I’m going to use on the other side. I have to hold in my hand a 15x magnifying mirror and hold it close to my face to see what I’m doing. I keep telling myself that I need to learn to do it without a mirror. I love watching your challenges like this one.

Because I seriously injured one of my eyes, I am afraid to use eyemakeup on them anymore. I am very proud of you for doing so. I am going to follow your idea on getting a 15x magnification mirror for my BB Cream, brows, blush, and lipstick application. My mom is also legally blind. She uses a liquid foundation, blush, and lipstick. She doesn't use a mirror to apply these because of practice. She feels her face and knows where things go. The foundation goes on all over her face. She feels where her cheekbones are and then uses that as a guide for blush application. Finally, she feels for the outline of her lips and applies the lipstick. My mother was at NIH, between the ages of 13-15 years old in the late 1950's, because she had an eye disease that was unfamiliar to the medical community. One of the ladies there taught my mom how to apply makeup by just using her sense of touch. If you don't want to continue to apply your makeup by using a mirror anymore, you are no doubt familiar with using your sense of touch in order to do various things. Perhaps you could try to do your makeup that way. Using a pencil eyeliner is much more forgiving than a liquid one. Also you could practice where to apply your eyeshadow by feeling where your lid, crease, and brow are. I hope that some of these ideas are helpful to you. I was just very excited to hear of someone, in a similar situation that I am in, that still enjoys using makeup. Thanks for sharing your experience.

As an oily skinned gal, tinted moisturizers/bb creams are a no go. I need something that lasts and with those products, primer and powder is a must. I opt for primer, concealer, powder foundation, blush, tinted brow gel, lashes, and setting spray. Highlighter and/or a one and done shadow if I have time.

Thanks Emily great look - :) video request: Can you do a everyday neutral eye look that would flatter every age/eye type, I have deep set eyes and a lot of times crease colors are lost on me making it tough to follow eye looks where some have a lot of flat space above their eye and several deep shades in their crease - this look could be achievable for everyone - sorta a universally flattering eye look - but not a no eyeshadow look - sorta of a happy medium.

I love the Em Cosmetics so soft sticks myself. They are definitely pigmented. But I also really love the maybelline brow fast sculpt. I think it compares to my Kosas brow gel and lasts better than the elf wow brow.
