Well...a funny thing happened on my way to adjust the pad settings on my new DTX6 kit. This module got all whacky and it would not recover after many resets. I have been going back & forth with a Yamaha tech but still not fix. What the kit began doing was excessively over reacting to strikes anywhere on any pad and even the rack itself. This become a big mess trying to record in MIDI! Unfortunately it appears this kit is going back because my return window is closing in a few days and I have no choice.

Hi Simon, do the built in kits use the alternating function to avoid machine gunning at all?

The alternating function is for when you are using layers A,B C and D (in other words something that you have put together from internal or user sounds). The internal sounds have a much more complicated system.
