Lots of skilled workers at boot companies in the US are Mexican by nationality or birth, lol....so it's either mexican made in the US or Mexican made in Mexico. Not a bad thing....it's hard to find and train younger Americans to get into the boot making business....younger folks just aren't that interested in getting into trades like they used to. Just ask machine shops, they can never find young guys to train....most of our skilled workers are aging out.

The original Redwings Pecos with cork sole are still made in USA 🇺🇸. Bought a new pair today 👍. They hurt like hell for a month but it’s all worth it in the end. They become as comfortable as house slippers and last many years. I usually get 6 years out of a pair and that’s wearing and working in them every single day. I only own 1 pair of boots at a time. Work, play, and dress up. They do it all

@@alans.wendelschafer6588 the only issue is they are really hard on your feet the first couple weeks. It’s best to wear them around the house a couple hours a day until they loosen up before you go work all day in them. They are also pretty heavy but I’m used to it. This is very important. Buy your correct size. Don’t buy a bigger size because they are more comfortable at the time because when they break in they will be to big. Your correct size will hurt your feet for awhile but once they loosen up and break in they will fit perfectly. You just gotta be patient with redwings. The thick high quality leather just takes time to break in but once they do they LAST

Taking on your thoughts my friend. Usually, things made in USA and Europe are more expensive for the simple fact that we, here (I'm in England) and you there have a higher standard of ... employment! Artisan, craftsmen and in general all the professionals of every industry and manufacturing in these latitudes earn better wages and enjoy better work conditions and that is were the price tag comes from. I, personally, feel peaceful at the thought that whoever made my boots had a good day at work and can keep his/her family in good living standards. I will not deny the fact that product quality made in Mexico, Vietnam, India or China may be up to a good standard, even better in some cases, that's arguable, but living conditions and wages for their employees? that is for all of us to see. That is why they can offer cheaper prices and compete, I think unfairly, to America-Europe-Japan industries. I don't want to throw these as a blanket for all, because they are international manufacturers that do keep a good employment ethics. But to agree with you, as we say in England, if 'one pays peanuts one gets monkeys'; the very very cheap manufacturing, does very very cheap poor quality products. After all the rambling. I would like to know your take on European Manufacturers... did you know that Spain has at least 4 brands of excellent cowboy boots? did you know that Italy, the cradle of shoe making, is literally hot on their heels producing 'western cowboy style boots' did you know that Northern Europe guys in Germany, England, The Netherlands, France and Sweden are growing crazy about them? I would really love your thoughts on these brands and styles of boot making.

And with a higher salary comes a drive and passion to make better stuff because since it is the only way to differentiate. Did you stop making videos? As far as I can tell, all your videos are years old. How about some new content. I loved your video about Kimes jeans. I bought a pair, love them. Thx.

I'll pay more for US made - Boots, tools, gear, you name it. I avoid China whenever possible but sometimes it just can't happen . I will say mexico trumps China.

“Made In America” is better for a lot of things, cars not being one of them 😂

Let me preface by saying I am an American through and through, but "Made in America equates to higher standards" is rubbish. This may be true of certain things made in China or India, but certainly not everywhere. This is especially true of clothing and shoes made in Italy, France, England, or Spain for example. The Swiss probably make the finest timepieces on earth. Japanese optical equipment is the some of the most technologically advanced, finely crafted things in existence. You specifically mentioned Mexico, which is where my Tecovas boots were made and I’ll put em up against any other brand. I’m all for buying American but I also know fine craftsmanship is definitely not an American singularity.

I totally agree with you. As a consumer I want the best quality at a price I can afford, and it doesn't bother me where the product was made.
