Not certain if you are just making a comment, or being serious 😆 Do you know one, or you just met some? I’m curious due to one of the qualities being deception and you wouldn’t know based off of a chance meeting. One of the characteristics, by definition, is narcissism.

You must be confused about what a narcissist is then. A psychopath is born without a self/ego, and a narcissist has had their self/ego abused out of them as children. However, buried very deeply inside of the narcissist is a scared, pubescent boy, filled with shame and self hatred. Psychopaths don’t hate themselves, but they also don’t love themselves. The psychopath can be anything to anyone, while the narcissist is stuck being a miserable, hateful man(all narcissists are male). There is quite a bit of overlap in behaviors among female psychopaths and grandiose narcissists, but that deep feeling of shame and self hatred isn’t there in the psychopaths. Psychopaths don’t feel the effects of emotional trauma, while the narcissist’s life is built upon their trauma. A psychopath is also capable of high levels of cognitive empathy, whereas the narcissist has neither cognitive nor emotional empathy. There is too much confusion(and I believe it’s been intentionally spread) about what NPD is. These people do not think they’re great. They pretend to, sometimes, but deep deep down, they know what they are, and they hate themselves for it. Oh, and despite what you’ve been told about narcissists, they actually can get better. Not all the way better, but it’s possible for them to go from narcissist to grumpy guy. It typically requires some sort of NDE, which doesn’t happen all that often. I bet if you were to Google “heart attack cured my NPD”, you’d find some results. This happened to my grandfather, and after 10 years of being out of the lives of his ex wife and children, they reunited, and maintained a relationship until he died. What’s really interesting now is that many narcissistic men are marrying psychopathic women, and having children. This explains why there is so much mental illness among Gen z and millennials. Gen x was the last generation, generally, to have at least one parent who truly loved them.

@MATR Ix those titles may have been jettisoned by the psych community somewhat recently but historically they have been the same. Type 1 ASPD - psychopath Type 2 ASPD -sociopath.

While in college my psych 101 professor had everyone in all 5 of her 101 classes take take the "dark triad" test. Of 5 classes of about 25 students each 8 of us scored over 80% in all three of the dark personality traits categories. She did tell the classes who these 8 were, but she did privately meet with each of us a week or so later during a professor/student meetings we had to have with her. I was not surprised that I was one of the eight. I told her the way I looked at it was simple ... I might have very strong percentages in these categories (mine were second highest of the eight .. over 90% in every category) but the way I chose to act as a person determined my potential for all the terrible things attributed to people who are high on the dark triad scale. She and I got along very well and she even did a class session where myself and one of tge other eight were presented with questions on everything from morality, religion, and other issues that we would supposedly have "a hard time with". We got 1 minute to answer each person's question. When I walked out of that classroom that day I had several new soon to be friends and had several people tell me that one day they hoped I would end up on prison. Some personality disorders or traits are demons that some people can not overcome. Some are easily overcome. And some can be overcome by understanding that you have a very different view about a great many things than most of the rest of the world, but the world and you can accept each other as long as you are willing to be honest with the world about who you are and what you believe. If you don't what the "dark triad" is then look it up. Alot of bad people have either been confirmed or suspected of having this personality type .. flaw ... whatever you want to call it.

Everyone has traits in the top cluster B conditions also. However, there is more to it. However, there is more to it and these videos always make me uncomfortable because I know people will not understand that, then they see themselves. But more has to go along with these traits like; childhood behaviors, specific types of childhood trauma, longevity of actions, lack of empathy not understanding something is wrong (no guilt), and levels of you own morals, principles, and values…the list goes on. All these things can do is cause someone to question and find out for certain. Most people who actually would have the diagnosis wouldn’t need to look into the things you mentioned..then even question it. If they did, it would be to use as a weapon or learn another act. Heck, I could tell you aren’t any of those things because you did not justify/dignify it, it was a funny-but-true comment.
