id like to add on the hatch. DO NOT SLAM IT. theres rubber bump stops on the hatch the prevents the car from rattling around on the road. slamming the hatch causes the bump stops to be pressed in and the hatch rattles around when driving.

Good call. I also add little felt furniture pads on those two contact point in the back, where the hatch bump stops touch the car, it helps eliminate any rattling.

ymmv, but my glovebox didn't line up when I first bought the car and I took a long flathead/pry bar and VERY gently bent the little U shaped latch on the dash towards the floor. I bent it maybe half a mil and the glovebox fits super flush now and doesn't rattle. Closes nicer, too!

Headlights on is a heavier 12V load. This triggers the DC/DC converter which functions as the alternator. Otherwise, it doesn't kick in until the battery is low enough to start sulfating. Mileage can also greatly vary based on the individual car due to maintenance and individual variance in the small production run of engines. It makes me wonder if they were "hand built".

Thank you Jeff, all pertinent and vital to satisfaction in ownership. Had mine painted white and use parking lights always. Right on about grid charger, revived my 4 year beehive 8amp hour pack and better than new. Stronger springs in the rear I might add. Cheers! Bob

#1 Turnong the headlight forces the DCDC to always output 14.x volts, hence your 12 volt battery will stay charged. You can achieve the same result by cutting the WHT/GRN wire heading to the DCDC.

Glove box issue definitely has something to do with that bracket you need to remove to change the cabin air filter. Silly design

Can't help but notice that your taillight reverse lenses seem darker, especially on the red one. Did you tint them or is that just the camera?

No need to drive with the headlights on for the DC-DC converter to output 14v, you need to cut the white/green wire located on the plug to the DC-DC converter.
