I must respectfully agree. I appreciate the info, but I am new and much of this video was meaningless to me. I understand the difficulty he has, being so in the know and I have no right. To demand anything. But it is valid feedback!

this is my first actual league (played tota but only with a storm rain pathfinder that only got halfway through maps), and im very excited to play with your trickster league starter, thanks for your vids which has helped me understand a lot of complicated stuff or filled with tips to make your gameplay smoother and faster

I have questions on two topics since we are in a tip video: - For less experienced players, which loot filter do you recommend using during the campaign? Is there even a difference between them during the campaign? - Most build guides describes what gems to get and where to socket them for the best efficiency. But, unless you know everything, it can be hard to know which one will potentially drop in the game, while another one could be a quest reward or bein sold by a vendor. Is there a place to know which one comes from which source? Thanks in advance.

Tbh the default filter is fine for the first few acts, then you can use filter blade to bump up the strictness by 1 or 2 till maps. As for gems you should be able to find that info on the wiki, but also there is a guy in act 3 inside the library that you do a mini quest for (a ghost appears and asks you to find some gold pages) you need to do a bit of searching but look for a clickable candle in that zone to find a secret passage to collect the pages. It should be in one of the corner square sections of the zone. Once you return to him, he gives you a free gem and sells almost alot of gems you can find in the game.

@@MonkeyDuckTruckThanks a lot for that. It will help a lot in my campaign. I am not at the level to race it in 10 hours but I do hope I can do better than the 45-50 it took when I did it for the first time (and doing everything) :)

About point #2: Very rarely does it matter where you socket gems. Generally speaking, all you care about is colors and amount of links. It's somewhat rare for a beginner to need to socket a gem in a specific place (an example: Devouring Diadem, as it reduces mana reservation)

@@ulruc neversinc filters are amazing. even after multiple leagues and nearly 1000 hours, you still won't need to "homebrew" a filter. he literally created the filter system, so i trust his filters. i use semi-strict for levelling and early endgame. once i hit the mid-late endgame i move to very strict.

Iv always used the Innocence fight as a litmus test for the damage/tankiness of a character. If I can complete the whole fight without dying/taking ten minutes to finish, then I'm ready to move on.

As long as you're both keeping up the pace, it's faster in a group probably. It's just harder to keep the pace the more people you have.

I started the standard SRS guard but I was looking at the new gems and saw one that just made my jaw drop: "Wildstrike of Extremes" - and one line just stands out screaming: BOSS KILLER! _Hits treat enemy monster elemental resistance values as _*_INVERTED_* There's so much in that one line alone it defies sanity. Endgame bosses have insane resistances and to suddenly invert them is mind blowing. Double or triple damage from just the skill gem alone, not even considering supports! No ele pen, ele weakness, ele vuln curses needed. Oh... but look at the cast cost: 14 life/ES/Mana *per attack* (lvl 1) - OUCH Probably only for high leech & claw builds with those sorts of extremes. I wonder if it will even work if someone goes CI or that new blood magic ascendency.

@@cykablyat6348 Why? If +75 (example) is inverted to -75, pen would merely be a more damage multiplier on top of that negative? Would a weakness curse further increase that or actually reduce the negative effect? (i.e. frostbite reducing +75 to +55, which is then inverted... or is the inversion before all player cast affects?)

@@amzarnacht6710 i think pen is after inversion, but exposure is before, so getting exposure could get you less damage. Or i could be talking out of my ass

They are things and tips to make it easier and faster, but kind of require some knowledge. In your first league, probably best to focus on learning the basic game flow and mechanics and how to get your league starter (seriously, follow a build, from a big content creator, it's another game) as far as possible - you'll not get it as strong, fast and rich as in the guide, because you'll not drop the same items, currency, have the same knowledge etc. If you get demotivated with your build, try another one! Maybe a different kind (ex: from caster to melee). Have fun!
