Dr. Rhoberta Shaler - Help for Toxic Relationships

Күн бұрын

You're a good person. You want to see the best in folks. You are right ready to help someone excuse their poor behavior, and be understanding. Hijackals count on that! They treat you poorly to see how much you'll put up with. It's often no long into the relationship before they're taking up al the space....and you're gasping for air, dying to be heard.. BE CLEAR ABOUT THESE 12 TRAITS. See them. Believe them. Don't expect them to change.

1.lying 2.projecting 3.gaslighting 4.indirect conversations 5.sabotage the relationship 6.belittling you 7.Manipulating 8.condescending 9.discounting & disrespecting 10.untrustworthy 11.arrogance 12.stir up chaos Dear Dr Rhoberta, had to summarise while listening.. you are so helpful ,great and precise. The problem is how you solve the fact that the hijackels victims are just moving from one of them to another one, like we spot them in a room of thousand people . Like we are addicted to them , and how can we get rid of the need of them ??

Thank you very much for writing the list and I've thought about how my attraction to highly narcissistic, or worse, individuals used to literally happen across a crowded room, which was usually a bar, or nightclub! I've learnt the extremely hard way that the strong chemistry and butterflies, or even anxiety, are actually warning signs of danger ahead. ❤

I once thought that I was a hyjackall but I realized that I was raised with hyjackall parents and I chose hyjackall men to be with in relationships and in my workplace which I was in for 25+ years... what was I doing???? I wasn't aware of how much abuse that I was taking from hyjackall people around me. Thank you Dr.Shaler for your help and support on this topic.

It is helpful to understand our origins and experience but we then must take accountability for the boundaries we set with people so we don't allow ourselves to be victimized further.. once we know it's our responsibility..

Wow! Hit the nail on the head. When engaging in a conversation with a hijackel, They don’t want to be uncomfortable but they want you to be uncomfortable in the conversation!

I deleted my first statement, your conversation is incredibly accurate whether it’s a personal relationship or family or friend. I was so overwhelmed with how accurate and knowledgeable you are of human nature. The creation of havoc/chaos is a definite trait in my sister in addition to others. My mother taught them well. I never realized I accepted for too long, thank you. I used to think only partners could be narcissists or hijackals , I was wrong. Amazing video. Thank you for the in law statement- edited in order to thank and acknowledge your statement

This is all true! Mine ultimately made an attempt on my life. A last and most bold attempt which finally opened my eyes to the fact that there really was no hope of happiness with him and I wasted 15 years in an abusive marriage…

speaking of put downs i don't know why my husband has to say for instance, when i said i couldn't get out of his care very well, he had to say in front of everyone, well its not my car its cause your old, or i mentioned that the people at my church were old, and he said well your bloody old, and i had to say that they were older,he said it very nasty ?? If there is an ugly old women on the tv, and my granddaughter, or great granddaughter are there he say there's your nan there.

My ♥ goes to you, precious. Theres nothing worse than having your soul sucked out by evil vultures that are reprobate scum who've long forgotten what it means to have one. Spiritual sellouts. They're hellbound and know it. They cants stand to see anyone else being joyful. As they have none. Bless you Rhoberta 🙏 🌸 🕊
